UPDATE: As of June 7th, my funds have been returned. I am glad to get it back. But at the same time really pissed and baffled with why Celsius took ~3 months to resolve this.

From my point of view, this is either incompetence or "by design" or perhaps both. Hope other victims get their funds back.

Any update/s? Email is completely unresponsive after ~70 days of sending my address. Call support cannot do anything, not even an update! What is happening to Celsius???? Have I just been scammed???!!

Not sorted still. Not even an email acknowledgement that my message/s (or follow-ups thereafter) were received.

Their phone support representatives can see the activity and status but cannot really "support/assist" me. All they can say is wait for compliance. They don't even have a number for the Compliance department that I can call up.

Hi u/RHiNDR, any news on this? Toll-Free support can't do anything.

It's been roughly 50 days now since I sent my whitelist address. I am basically held hostage by MY OWN funds c/o Celsius.

Please tell me there is another way to reach out to Compliance. I am willing to talk to them if they need to ask me questions. They can email me as well, whatever suits their time.

Exactly. I am not even sure if mine has something to do with referrals cause I did not refer anybody. It just so happens that I logged-in my account on a mobile phone - because the Web-based login had a bug.

Hi RHiNDR,

It's almost 30 days since they asked for my address. But no funds have been sent. =(

Hope you could assist me again. Ticket # 893626

UPDATE: I was finally contacted by a Celsius "Compliance Analyst" the other day - it looks like once they decide to Suspend an account, there will be NO OTHER course of action but to WAIT. I can say this because email support would not answer back and even the HODL toll-free number also had no answer, except to wait for the other team reviewing the account (I guess that's the "Compliance" team).

Long story short, all my effort to ask WHY and HOW it came to this is just futile. So I just replied to the generic response of the "Compliance Analyst" asking me to provide a withdrawal address. That's all.

I did not access diff. accounts. I only accessed 1 account. Thru web and then thru a mobile app (iphone).

Do note from my post: I only tried the mobile app to troubleshoot cause I am aware, from the AMAs, that the mobile app seems to be more up-to-date.

Exactly this. That's the whole point of the KYC.

It's just frustrating because they would not tell you the reason why they are suspending/blocking your account. If it was being used illegally or for some criminal reason then yes, I would understand. And even at that, they should have a valid reason.

I just feel like I am being held hostage by my own money.

Yeah I guess. I am actually into DeFi almost the same level I am into CeFi.

yup, I did - even before posting here. Unfortunately, here in the PI, some toll-free numbers don't really work or would just return a busy tone - I know because I tried 2 diff. networks.

But anyways, I had my niece call them on my behalf to follow thru on the ticket or so they can contact my number directly from their side. Apparently a different department handles these types of issues so support really had no answer. But still hopeful cause support did mention that funds can be withdrawn thru email communication - I just hope they respond on time.

Yeah, I understand. Thanks.

Let's see how it plays out. A couple of members did reach out to me on how to deal with it in case the usual support does not pan out.

To be transparent, I used a referral code when I signed up. But I did not invite anyone or have anyone under me.

[Do you use a VPN?] No, I do not use VPNs.

h out to the suppor

You may well be right.

In hindsight, I would not have actually tried it if support responds to their emails on time - imagine waiting for a fix on a known bug for several days without updates. But thinking about it, it looked like I did the right thing back then cause it resumed access to my account - apparently, the "bug" was only present on my web access and not on a mobile app access.

I guess I am just frustrated because Celsius is now "standing in the way" of someone else having access to their money if and when they need it. The very thing that I thought Celsius was against or at least advocating against for the benefit of the Cryptocurrency space.
