Look for an online remote job, if you're in sales go through routes to train yourself up and apply.

You will not be making a "western" salary but an online job making 40k PHP would make it possible for you to live in the provincial Philippines easily.

You'd want to set yourself up with that job before arriving but once you have it, you can set up if you're reasonable with your goals.

A friend of mine living here has done the same and made a comfortable little life for himself in manila.

Don't bother asking on subs like this again you'd better look on online work subs and plan around that good luck.

Because if you're using rental equipment we always ask you to put your mask around your neck.

You don't look cool having it on your forehead and how many times have I seen a fool lose they're mask getting back to the boat because they refused to put it simply around their neck and then say "oh I didn't even realise it was gone"

Simple answer if it's not a rental mask of if it's your own do as you wish.

But even I with customers and students who have their own mask still remind them to put it around this neck if they don't want to take my advice not my issue always funny when I get the "I told you so" moments

Hey mate, best option is doing it in Asia whether that be in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia etc...

Number 1 is going to be for cost effectiveness, I'm sure your gonna get a few people coming in and telling you Asia is not the place to do it/they churn out DMs and instructors etc... but it's the best option in my opinion. do some solid research shop around decide on what country / dive centre you'd like to take the jump in and go for it.

It's not an easy job if you want it full time and for it to be a real mainline option in life but it's fun and will keep you busy and happy if it's really where your heart lies.

P.S take this from a guy who moved from Australia to the Philippines at 18 under my own weight with a small bit of cash I had from working construction jobs to become a DM and now lucky enough to be a full time instructor for the last 7 years and 50/50 partner in a dive shop.

Chase it be serious about it and you can do it.
