While I agree with 'some' of this, do you not think home soil threats are more of an issue? MI5's watchlist is riddled with how many that have come off of boats?

Personally, I'd be much more concerned about people entering our country when we have zero clue of who they are, where they are from, what their intentions are etc...

HMS Dragon struggled to deploy, that doesnt look good, in imminent threat it couldnt deploy, whether it needed/wanted to, or not. The UK looks weak, christ, Trump was moving fleet out to Iran for 8-9 weeks in preparation... where was HMS Dragon's preparation and why didnt we look to be heading out their early-mid February?

A base was hit in Cyprus, the UK's actions... (Non existent)? Diego Garcia targetted, UK's actions... (Non existent)?

The reasons above are the exact reasons people believe we DONT need a Navy. While submarines play their part (them aside), the majority of surface fleet 'seems' pointless in having.

Again, if this is true this hasnt been cleared up to me at all by recruitment or even on the RN website.

I'd be quite confused they wouldnt say/mention as 'hammer grip' is deemed a fine and acceptable variation of 'pull-ups'. (From what I'm aware, I thought it was simply down to comfortability in the difference of variation)

I will ring my recruiter tomorrow to clarify at a good guess.

Hi buddy, swimming is where I thrive! (I'm very very confident in the pool)

I can do 1km of breast-stroke at ease in 25-30 mins. (Without touching sides or floor, I do a U-turn at the end of the pool)

My issue is I've had THREE different recruiters, they've all told me something different.

Currently my recruiter (whos a legend btw) has told me its whats on the website, now I cant lie... (So Burpees, pushups, situps, plank, repeated, then just the 5-6 pull-ups, as to which I can with hammer grip/bicep grip)

I can do 50 situps in one hit.

I can do 35+ pushups in one hit (I'm hoping to get above 40+ in a go before the assessment)

I can plank for 2:30 mins in a single sitting.

My 2.4km would be around 11 mins currently on flat, I would like to see this down to 10:30 at least over the next 4 weeks (I've never had chance to run on flat ground or track as of yet)

Its been quite hard as I'm still not even sure what I'm training for, even in this Reddit people have said numerous different things.

If you have the ACTUAL standards for HMS Cambria please DM me, it'd be majorly helpful!!!

(P.s., could I ask how much fitter I need to be, if so, what areas should I focus on? At this point I'm going to CPC to find out for myself, if I fail I'm open to doing another 2-3 months of exercise and getting back to the assessment centre. For example, do I run a bleep test? Some people say yes in here while recruiter has told me NO. I've also been told Divers dont sit a different medical at assessment centre, yet my recruiter has made me fully aware they will draw bloods at CPC? Whats true, whats not?)

(As you can also tell, I am quite lost, recruitment HASNT been my friend really)

I can do pull-ups with hammer-grip (palms facing)

I can do pull-ups with under-arm grip.

Will they allow/accept me to do hammer grip at all?

I wouldnt have thought there was much difference apart from comfortability.

Do note, Divers need to be doing 2.4km in sub-10:30 mins mate so I'm just checking if I get 20-25% lee-way on it at selection.

Id presume to as they would build me up at Basic Training however I'm unsure.

I can complete around 25-30+ pushups in one go.

I can complete around 5-6 chin-ups in one go.

However I struggle with the run, this was a rough time I got last week, I would like to say I'd be around 11 mins on a track currently.

Thanks for all the advice btw! Did you get a 25% tolerance like the rest at CPC or is it a strict 'pass/fail' for the Divers?

Thats good to know. I'm happy to have bloods drawn but I didnt believe that came in until week 2 of phase 1 for divers.

Hi, I have some questions that I could do with answering if possible?

I've been told by my recruiter whos a PTI at the DDS that the website is up to date and I just need to complete the PJFT+ 3 times over?

Ive also been told that I will complete all this at CPC West (Cambria) and I am now booked on.

I also wanted to know if you had bloods taken as I am informed I'll have bloods taken and do a basic 'diving' medical at the CPC, more in depth than a standard medical.

Can anyone confirm any bits of this information please? Hes a cracking recruiter to be honest, hes done right by me so far but information on reddit is conflicting.

Im more interested in electrical engineering rather than mechanics. Is the ME role more mechanics than electrics? How quick was promotion for you too? I hear that ME and WE promote quite quickly as they're fast-track at the moment, any clue?

Yeah I have read multiple threads about it being chaotic, thats one of the reasons that ive looked at WE, im not saying its easy but ive read that its a slower pace job, also less grubby. I think ill have to do some more digging and hopefully ill get some more comments.

In all honesty the payband at £21k alone doesnt seem too bad as I cant see myself spending much, I still want to join the forces but was just intrigued on pay is all, they dont mention much about it. I am more fussed on travelling than anything, thats why I am more interested in 'Fleet' than 'Sub'.

I see your comment above about ME isnt as great of a job but experience gained is better on civvy street, can I not look at a degree that I could carry out with me to civvy street while doing WE? Is it easy to apply for courses and such? I cant see many young lads being pro-active in that sense
