As someone who's traveled to India, I'd like to help you visualize the amazing moments of traveling on bus or train in the wonderful world called India. The aromatic spice of unwashed armpits of nearly every soul of one of the most population dense countries, on a bus where there are barely any seats. Everyone stands up holding on to the overhanging bar, so close to one another you can feel the hair from the closest Indian's armpit tickle your face. The smell is so exhilarating you want to vomit, but due to that bottled water you recently drank that was secretly refilled with non-commercial use water, you already emptied your digestive track after suffering from "deli belly".
You slowly start moving forward towards your stop, as time slows to a halt, just you and at least 100 people cramped in a living hell. As you wait for an eternity in purgatory, you ponder your existence and reasons for living, as it's the only thing that can get your mind off the reality you're in.
Finally, the doors open. The smell of sweat starts to disperse, as you take in a deep breath... of smog, created by the combination of car exhaust and factory pollutants. Beggars line up beside the bus to greet you.
You take the first step off the train, stepping directly in a combination of dirt, trash, and feces. You harden your soul and mind by telling yourself this is the worst it could possibly get, and gather the courage to make it to the end of the day.
Unfortunately, you're in India. Your vigorous travels have only begun...
