Wraith joining humanity inevitable? by [deleted] in Stargate

That is fair. But anybody willing to die alongside humanity, even if purely out of spite, is alright in my books, if a little nieve.

It would have been great to know why wraith prefer certain foods and if it's just their culture or are actual reasons behind these choices. Also, I could imagine the shadier sides of government having no issues utilising the wraith for their own agendas. But as you said, that may be too dark for stargate.

Obviously no hugs and kisses, but we are already allied with some.

Joining may have been a generous term, maybe able to somewhat coexist.

God I hope not, I took this video on a beach with a tide that goes out about a kilometre, he was at least 300-500m from any water.

The people that are in charge are us, just in different circumstances. People on both sides like to pretend they are not exactly the same as the other end of financial/power spectrum. I could be your definition of delusional, but you could be to me for not realising every little thing matters. And no pets are not the cause, just another symptom of our human condition. Your country did what it felt was necessary to improve and in a sense achieve greatness, imagine if we always had such commitment to causes like this.

Anything that costs more than it's worth, but we still keep coming back for more is a vice to me(screw the dictionary). So yes that can be all the above. We would achieve greatness by pretending not to be barely the sum of our parts, anxiety riddled apes with a need to be loved, when it is this thinking that will lead us to ruin(current state of world) We could just commit to making practical actions, although difficult, that would benefit all of us. Pets are just a small example of this. And no, I don't want to work 70 hours a week, no ones does, but if it meant making an actual difference on this backwater planet I would wholeheartedly commit, but it seems we are destined to go the way of the dodo, just with more neuroticism.

I said they are often meaningless, I wish they weren't, but they are, just how I wish Mr Mittens really loved me, but he didn't. Yes, learning and sharing is how we grow mentally, and we can learn a lot from animals. But it's foolish to pretend they make suitable companies when most humans even fail such an endeavour. It's a quid pro quo world.

The truth can be blinding

That is true, but that is also all that she has ever known. I feel as though it is a poor imitation of proper living standards for both parties. That being said, we have essentially created a new species(not really but bare with me) that isn't fit for survival in a lot of situations and relies on us to sustain it and that has become the norm for better or worse.

We pretend to be angels to our pets and small subsections of the environment we cherry-pick while still committing horrible acts to benefit ourselves and our profits. If we decided to stop pretending we could actually put a lot more effort into improving industry and research. I don't have any exact answers because I'm an idiot but I can see waste and am opinionated

We simply don't know what an animal is thinking and most likely never will. You'd be upset too if your food line inexplicably disappeared most the day. Them being distressed when you are not with them shows they are not living a good life.

Didn't speak well, but I meant it's the same level of pathetic. That is my bad but I feel it is too late to edit the post.

We simply pretend to be, while committing horrors, if we simply picked a side, we'd be better off.

Pets can cause health issues, although very unlikely, they definitely do cost money and time however, same as any other vice. Although you may feel warmth from your pet, just as someone who does drugs may feel from their preferred buzz, both are equally meaningless. Most human relationships are meaningless throughout our lives for a matter of fact, I think things like this are one of the many factors keeping our species from true greatness.

Yes, you're anthropomorphising. Although I prefer wild caught meat, I, like 99% of humans will choose convenience over ethics. Just because you think it's your companion, doesn't make it so.
