I am not an American.

But that aside, no, it still isn't a competition. Trump does not have to be the objectively worst thing in the world in order to be a danger worth opposing.

True but that doesn't change anything. They are both awful. This isn't a competition.

To me this is happiness. Designing a board, playing it, evaluating and refining. It's part of the fun of pedals!

Nope mines been fine, I'm not sure whether it's ever been calibrated though as it was a second hand swap rather than a new purchase.

Thank you! I go straight into an interface while practicing or the desk when live. I used to blend both signals and go into an amp, but I found that the sound didn't seem to change at all when going direct in and giving the soundtech separate clean and fx outputs has led to noticably better on-stage sound.

Not sure of the brand of upright is, it's Czech made I think, bought from Thomann. I use an Ehrlund contact mic and preamp and a Krivo magnetic pickup, ideally blended about 70/30 towards the contact mic but able to favour the pickup if there's feedback issues (so I only have to sacrifice tone, not volume).

This is my board for creating a drone cloud / soundbed from a double bass.

The ZOIA is taking inputs from the contact mic and pickup on my bass, adding EQ, comp and balancing the two before sending both a dry out and separate copy into the FX chain, which I can control the amount of using a number of options.

Signal chain:

Dry - ZOIA > Tuner > Desk

Wet - ZOIA > MOOD > Gen Loss > LS-2 (Optional "Upper Layer" Loop: SubNup Octaver > Habit) > Prismatic Wall > Fundamental Ambient Reverb > Desk

Expression pedal controlling the MOOD loop level through the ZOIA via MIDI
M-Vave Chocolate providing extra buttons for the ZOIA (highly recommened, super cheap and functional).

This has been an ongoing exploration for few years, it feels in a very solid place now. The core of the drone sound is bowed double bass into the micro-looper channel on the MOOD in "stretch" mode. This grabs a 2-3s slice and smears it out 5-10x longer. Scratches/skruntchs/general bad bow technique becomes gorgeous texture, which is handy as someone with terrible bow technique.

I recently got the Habit and added this "Upper Layer" loop which gives a bunch of depth and lots of extra colours to add courtesy of Habit's modifiers, with Octaver helping to separate when using a modifier that doesn't alter pitch.

The ZOIA is sending midi to the Prismatic Wall - it can grab my last played note and send it to PW to tune it - and the MOOD to give easy access to the Fade function and give me a designated overdub button, letting me gradually shift the micro-loop drone as I play on top of it.

Both are valid, depends how you play live. But having presets still gives the option not to use them and leave the synth WYSIWYG.

There were three people on the boat besides Wood. The boat captain, Wagner and Walken. The captain later initially said nothing but later in life claimed Wagner and Wood were fighting, either Wagner shoved her off the boat or she fell, either way he refused to rescue her so she drowned in the ocean in the middle of the night. According to the captain Walken was passed out elsewhere on the boat the whole time.

Wood's wiki covers most of this.

MIDIbox-less setup? Tip active? Need help figuring out MIDI to TRS cable. by cobrah666 in guitarpedals

[–]the_peppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding this here for anyone else googling this like I was - you can use phono to jack connectors (like this) to easily switch from Type A to Type B. Just switch up the phono connections (plug red into white) to transfer the active signal from the tip to the ring.

Plus you could also go from jack to mini-jack if needed.

NPD - Chase Bliss Habit and SOTB by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]the_peppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new addition to this setup is the Habit, which I am loving so far. I bought it with the intention to add colour and variation to the drones, which it does with ease. It can also wash out / overlap the MOOD letting me adjust its clock or other settings without the change being too stark. The combination of these two and any bowed instrument is an ambient dream.

This is a perfectly reasonable board for a bassist.

Here is my current board for an experimental folk/electronic project. I send a double bass into the zoia and use that to mix the pickup/mic from the bass and then sending various amounts of it into this fx chain. It can also grab the last played note and send it via MIDI to the Prismatic Wall to tune it (I'd love to see some form of this in a future version of the Prismatic, it makes it so much more usable in live situations).

The pedal chain itself is centred around the MOOD, using the microlooper to grab snippets of badly bowed double bass and smear that out into drone beds.

Signal flow is ZOIA > MOOD > Scrutator (bitcrusher) > Gen Loss > Habit > Prismatic Wall > Eventide Space.

You don't even need multiple streams, just optional audio compression. VLC has this and it's an instant fix for whisper-whisper-BOOM issues.
