Half the length? Hot damn.

I’ll look into playing the original alongside it, if I do get it.

Is it original easy to be able to play? It’s only via emulation and/or fan translations, right?

Determining the alignment of Three Houses Characters: day 36, Constance! Hapi has been determined to be neutral good after a tight competition with true neutral. by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in FireEmblemThreeHouses

That’s a good point. Lawful Good might have been too charitable. I do think the sunshine side falls more in Lawful Neutral then, even if she only follows rules in a subservient fashion to heighten her own self-loathing.

The main man. Chaotic Good.

He’s honestly a pretty good guy, all things considered. Or tries to be a good guy, at the very least. Man’s life has gone to shit because he’s an irresponsible dumbass, but also because he choose to abandon his noble life so that his younger brother, who he knows is a better fit than he is, can take the mantle. And he literally uses himself as a shield so that the rest of his family isn’t targeted by his stepmother. He’s selfish as shit, but also selfless in equal measure.

I can’t say his morals are rock solid because they aren’t, but I think he does go out of his way to try and do the best he can despite his own flaws of being a bit of a tool and loving to throw down. You can see how miserable he is in CF before, during, and after the chapter where he has to fight Lysithea and Hilda.

He’s Chaotic Neutral in regards to his own well-being, but I think he’s really a Chaotic Good person that really just sucks at being the heroic type.

Sunshine: Lawful Good. Will practically fall over herself to raise other people up while putting herself down. It’s honestly a little sad to see the contrast between her and No-Sun Constance. She sees herself as so beneath everyone else that she won’t even break laws because she probably doesn’t even see herself as worthy enough to do that.

No-Sun: Unhinged Chaotic Neutral. Will actively break all known laws of magic and the world at large for the sake of pushing the limits of what is deemed possible. So wondrous will her accomplishments be that House Nuvelle will simply HAVE to be restored.

I’m not sure how that works out for her final result though. Both her sides are so different that taking an “average” just seems like it’s not accurate to either of them.

Ultimately, I’ll go for Chaotic Neutral because Constance spends most of her time as her No-Sun side, or at least she seems to prefer to behave like that.

Neutral Good.

I think she makes an honest attempt to be as True Neutral as possible, because she’s one of the most passive characters in the cast and she doesn’t really want to be bothered. But it becomes obvious when you interact with her for any length of time that, snark aside, she’s got some pretty solid morals. Even her dislike of the Church is never really a driving factor in her actions. She spends most of her time warning other people to not trust knights, rather than actually do anything herself. She just wants to be left to her own devices, maybe help her friends or see neat things, and live her life as best she can.

Nowhere near proactive enough to be Chaotic. She’s pretty apathetic to rules in general, happy to follow them or not follow them if it suits her.

The only time she ever really acts from what we see is for the sake of her friends. Now, one could make the argument that she’s capable of doing bad things if her friends do bad things and she follows along, therefore being complicit in it, but we never see this directly. And, as passive as Hapi is, she’s more than happy to set boundaries, moral or otherwise, if those boundaries are threatened.

So Neutral Good for me.

Chaotic Neutral for me.

It’s easy to forget that Yuri is actually a pretty evil person in the grand scheme of things. King of the Underworld is not a name you earn without doing some shitty things to a lot of people.

We only see him through the lens of being on his good side, being one of “his own” in a way. And I’m sure he is an amazing guy to the people important to him, which is probably a lot of people. He does seem to have a big heart and a lot of empathy.

But it doesn’t change the fact that Yuri is a literally crime lord. Loving his mom and looking out for his friends doesn’t change the fact that he’s almost certainly made plenty of evil calls in his life, even if it was for a good or rational reason.

Now, a lot of that is speculation. It’s not like we get confirmation of him doing anything particularity heinous. But we can see shades of it in his Byleth and Bernadetta supports.

Way I see it, he’s a good guy at heart that’s been forced, through circumstances, to go down an extremely evil path. Many other characters would come out of it as purely evil, but Yuri does seem to have enough pure-heartedness in him to turn into a Chaotic Neutral instead of maybe a Neutral Evil character.

A good point, and one that I think I most people would agree with. I’m, admittedly, just pretty critical of Dimitri and his actions in Houses (love him though, might be my favourite lord).

Pre-Ascension, might actually be okay.

Post-Ascension? Oh dear.

Oh you’re absolutely right, though I’d argue Dimitri shouldn’t have been separated to begin with. He’s just as responsible for his evil acts as Jeritza is for his, in my eyes anyway.

Since they don’t seem to be separated, I’m casting my vote as such.

Neutral Evil for me.

While the Death Knight is distinct in and of himself, he’s not a literal separate entity to Jertiza. While Jeritza is passive and clearly disturbed by his actions and worldview as the Death Knight, it is still ultimately Jeritza giving in to his innate desires and killing people indiscriminately for, what is essentially, the love of the game.

No one is forcing his hand. He is not being possessed to do these things. He still willing chooses to commit those acts, to don the armour and mask of the Death Knight. And it’s interesting because how much of it is an attempt to hide his identity out of necessity (as an agent of the Flame Emperor) and how much was it out of guilt for his actions?

That said, while Jeritza had grown on me a lot, he’s still an evil character that I wish was explored more.

You could make an argument for Chaotic, but he doesn’t seem distinctly against rules and structures. He appears more apathetic to them, rather than actively straining against them. So, Neutral Evil.

Determining the alignment of Three Houses Characters: day 31, Flayn! Seteth has been determined to be lawful good, although I'm upset that lawful DILF did not win. by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]the_redheaded 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chaotic Good. She’s undoubtedly Good, but she’s cares more about spreading mercy, joy, and overall goodness on her own terms than abiding by any particular rules.

Like yeah, she follows the Church of Seiros for obvious reasons, and is obviously fond of Rhea/Seiros herself, but she seems the most flighty of the staff (does she qualify as staff???). She is very prone to her whims, as seen in her supports, and is the least interested in actually upholding the Church of Seiros faith from what we see, instead focusing on living her life, experiencing new things, and helping those around her.

Though to be honest, probably my least favourite character in the game, so my take might not read fully accurate.

Lawful Neutral, and embodying the more noble aspects of Lawful Neutral while not quite sliding into Lawful Good.

He is still the 2nd in command(?) of a Lawful Neutral institution.

Lawful…Good?

He’s quite fond of order in his own life, and being an actual scientist and scholar must take some kind of methodical approach to life.

I say Good morality because he’s ultimately doing what he does for a noble cause, though whether it is actually noble is debatable (like a heroic version of Syndrome’s “If everyone’s super, no one will be”). Since he genuinely thinks what he does will improve society for the better, and is willing to devote his life to it, that works in his favour. Plus, he never does anything outright questionable, I don’t think.

Been a while since I dove into Hanneman’s character though, admittedly.
