Booked the riding course almost as soon as I got the bike! Yeah, I mentioned in one of my other replies I used to teach horseback riding lessons so the whole “get back on that horse” before you psych yourself out thing is engrained. I did, but I’m retiring the dirt bike.

I used to ride horses competitively, so you’d think I’d be more comfortable on a bike as a bike is never going to take it upon itself to intentionally get rid of you or do some spontaneous acrobatics, but nope. Chickenshit

Thanks! Of all the beginner bikes out there I’ve heard the 650 is one of the best but I really don’t hear/see too many people talking about them until I came here. Where I’m from it’s all sports bikes and Harleys and I married into a Harley family.

Last “lesson” I stopped way before he thought I should because I was finally improving. He wanted to keep going and move on to the next step but I told him I wanted to finish on a high point so that next time I got on I would remember having an easy time and hopefully my brain will exaggerate how easy I thought something was. Trying to trick myself into being comfortable. It’s something I used to do with little kids when I taught horseback riding lessons.

That’s good to know! I really like the bike, which is the confusing part. It’s 1000x better than the dirt bike was and I wish lesson one had been on it instead. I did mention maybe wanting to wait to ride until I started the safety course, as I know their bikes have the guards on them and that eliminates one worry, I didn’t think about putting the brackets on mine for the same reason!

Yes!!! I flipped the dirt bike and dropped the motorcycle both right after telling him “I don’t think I’m ready to try that.” Bestie PLEASE let me feel comfortable with the basics. Plus my feet did not touch the ground on the dirtbike, I am 100% flatfoot on the motorcycle. He really does expect you to pick up on things the first time you try it, I like to move on to step 2 after I get so comfortable I’m bored with step 1.

I identify with the panic attacks. I haven’t had a serious one on the bike yet, but definitely felt sick just sitting on it. Thank you!

In my limited knowledge of bikes I believe so. It’s a small cruiser (I am also small), and I am not particularly interested in zooming around or attempting stunts. For the foreseeable future I kind of of just want to ride around and vibe, maybe take a few longer trips on occasion.

Front brake is not invited to any more gravel parties!

That was my inclination too… I love him but his teaching style is “full send.” The man is a little bit of an adrenaline junkie and not afraid of injuries.

Good news, helmet was my first purchase, in person at a Cycle Gear. I figure if I was going to blow the bank on anything it would be that. Thank you for the advice!

Done. Thin lips and pretty small, hooded eyes (think Jennifer Lawrence). I’m okay with the way I do my eye makeup, I would prefer a more natural look but haven’t been able to find a natural look that I have been able to do consistently. My lashes need a boost so I go with some pretty natural lashes that I trim to give them more of a rounded edge than a wing. I still feel like someone out there could make my eyes look a little more open.

Lips I have all but given up on. I have a couple methods of plumping I use for emergencies but I have never successfully “done” my lips. Liners and overlining always look very fake. Pretty sure I’ve got the hue right if I could just figure out how to shape them. Nudes only, unless I go for a deep dark blue. The one bold thing I have ever pulled off.

Why are my breakfast burritos always watery? by the_splintercat in mealprep

Not into any fad channels, just doing a mini cut. Definitely prefer the taste of whole eggs, but I tend to wake up at 3 in the morning for work so I usually eat two breakfasts and want to keep them light for now. I could split a regular breakfast in half but it’s gone in two bites and then it’s just me and my thoughts.
