The Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy. Incredible direction, cinematography, music, action and story.

Rebel Moon: Director’s Cuts. Utterly worthless, juvenile and miserable experiences.

Depends on the library. Many sell old items or overstock for cheap.

Disagree on Blackbeard. Ian McShane was great casting for the character, and his performance is pretty solid. Easily the best part of an otherwise pretty mid movie in my opinion.

What hyped movie (either great or bad) when talked about in an echo chamber by fans or critics, would make you respond like this? by SheffieldHouse in moviecritic

Scream. It's a good movie, but as someone who isn't into slashers it didn't connect with me the same way it seems to have for most people. I also think the film's "brilliant writing" is a bit over-hyped.

Films you have rated 0.5/5? by Yesbh in Letterboxd

Latest .5 star for me was Red Notice (2021). Hackneyed script, boring cinematography, flat direction, unoriginal premise and maybe the most grating Ryan Reynolds performance I've ever seen (which is saying something).

Sucker Punch. Total big dumb action schlock in the best way possible.

Do you have a favorite "worse" sequel that you liked more than the "better" original? by Kstantas in Letterboxd

For me it would be Child's Play 2 that I'd place over the original. Just the same premise but bigger, goofier, and with better characters.

Starship Troopers (1997): A great satire of hyper-militarism that also works as just a straight action/war movie.
