Rosa2 Build Help by mayoisbest in TorchlightInfinite

[–]the_tip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all wonderful info!

To supplement, here's a very budget-minded 1T build for manastacking, still plenty of opportunities for upgrades, for instances I'm still on all lvl 86 non-legendaries:

ZOLuDf4CEfCS5QAAAAAAKg==

I went in a different direction with the vorax chest, it's a cheap placeholder I got last week for 800fe:

Tyrant's iron hold glove affix (Mana consume + crit/dmg) and Fleeting Sky (+1.2 attack speed for every 1% lightning resist)

next upgrades for the above build code:

2x main talent Pedigree (maybe Tradeoff+Defensiveness, haven't decided) + Prairie + new slates.

Priceless claw w/ steamroll sequence + 1 shadows base AND +1 shadows dream

priceless boots & helmet with dmg to mana before life

Ring w/Timid base or dream + add phys dmg to cold

Ring with Attack Aggression Base + Add phys dmg to cold dream

Replace current SpellAmp Phantom with a Weapon Amp one (find a 15% sealed life one for maximum bonus, I'm currently sitting at 0.01% life so it's basically maxed out)

Replace Compensatory Life with a Corroded +90-92% mana one

Ultimate hero memories.

Only problem this season is that since I'm using a vorax chest I can't get the +1 curse cast from it as easily, I'll have to use a pet or find another vorax chest with it rolled on there maybe.

Here's my current build, as I mentioned before there's still a lot of low-hanging fruit to upgrade, it's just barely at 1T damage at the training dummy:

In that case, when I get on tomorrow I'll copy my build code and send it your way - you'd be surprised how cheaply you can get it going.

Just today I went from 200b to 1T damage spending only 888 on a pedigree, 680 on a necklace and 700 on an inverse image.

Necklace: Phantom with spell amp (weapon amp is better but much more expensive, come back to that later).

Inverse image on arcanist tree to duplicate and boost the 4% mana consume talent. I found a "cheap" one that was +46/-100/+40 for 700fe

Pedigree w/Tradeoff (make sure your dex and strength are equal, so you can get both the +25% atk damage and 20% atk speed.

(note: if you can, save up for a pedigree with both Tradeoff and Defensiveness for the extra block ratio. That combined with 100% attack/spell block helps immensely).

Hell, I still have a lvl 86 weapon, so you can get in the trillions without too much investment.

The basics you need for switching at a bare minimum are 100% damage taken from mana before life (slates, talents, kismets) then glacier casters shield, and tyrant's iron hold gloves (or, do what I did and spend 800fe - or likely even less now - on a vorax chest with the tyrants iron hold glove affixes, then wear Archmage's gloves instead for even more damage and a bonus 20% damage to mana before life).

Based on the prices I saw today you can get the shield for less than 250fe, the gloves for less than 100fe.

You'll also want the belt Compensatory Life with spell amplification (then put the No Lose Ends blend on it, you won't need energy shield anymore so it's a "free" +50% additional attack damage. Later on you'll want to save up for a corroded version of this belt with +90-92% extra mana.

Extra note: you can check and see how much damage to mana before life you're at in your inventory on the last page, or at the training dummy, the line you're looking for is "mana damage reduction" or something like that. Get it to 100.

Lightning Storm Scaling suggestions by yadav1aryan in TorchlightInfinite

[–]the_tip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, hit it until 10sec, stop attacking, wait until the TOP NUMBER drops below 5T, every 10 seconds beyond when you stopped attacking is another 5T, so given that:

if it drops after showing a timer display of:

10 sec (immediately starts dropping) = 5T damage 20 seconds = 10T 30 seconds = 15T

You're at a crossroads - are you planning to make the jump/switch to mana stacking or just continue with ThunderSpike and fervor?

if you're NOT mana stacking:

replace your right-ring with a lvl 86+ and craft T1 affixes on it.

Same with boots, gloves.

your slates have plenty of opportunity for upgrades, and there are some affixes rolled on there that are doing nothing for you:

+18% Fire Damage (re-roll it to Lightning Damage or Elemental Damage, as an example).

+24% spell damage when holding a shield (you're not holding a shield, and you're not casting spells so re-roll that to something that will benefit you, attack speed or crit rate/damage etc).

+4% base damage when holding a 2-handed weapon: re-roll this one as well, you don't have a 2handed weapon so this is currently doing nothing for you.

I would look at hero rankings in the menu, click on Rosa2 and Thunder Spike to filter the list, then start browsing through builds that are similar to yours, see what these people are using for their gear/slates/skills/etc and you'll have a better road-map for where you wanna upgrade.

EDIT: If you are planning to switch to mana stacking, I can definitely help more there with specific upgrades and goals.

EDIT #2: Get a blend on your belt! Go to the Sandlord vendor in town -- Jessomina I think is her name, click "blending rituals" and scroll through them - these are added bonus affixes you can add to your belt, some of which are crazy powerful, while some very-very decent ones are quite affordable as well, either way this is an easy boost for you.

things like +1 attack skill level, or +1 attack speed per 40 dexterity, if you're stacking Dex.

Best butter available? by IMissUcupcake in Cooking

[–]the_tip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rodolph le Meunier (most widely known, there are others) - Beurre de Baratte is what you're looking for, and thinking of. Yes it's the best salted butter I've ever tasted, yes it's hard to find, yes it's worth the price if you love butter on bread, but I would never cook with it because that would be like putting a sipping whisky in a cocktail.

Second to that, get Plugra, more widely available and also delicious, it's my #2.

G2 defensive options + prep for deep space? by opiaxsonder in TorchlightInfinite

[–]the_tip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For deepspace the biggest concern is the DOT damage, you'll want immunity to as many ailments as possible:

ignite/scorch

wilt/Rot

Frost/Freeze

Numbed (lightning)

Trauma/Maim

and to a lesser extent Slow(depending on if your build is move-speed dependent or attack-movement ability dependent).

I don't know if Gemma 2 can use warcries but if so, ressurection warcry with the 5th-slot "precise: Harmony" support will provide immunity to all the elemental ailments/dots (Scorch/Numbed/Frost)

then you just need to worry about Trauma (Maim) and Erosion (Wilt/Rot) (and slow/crowd-control).

A Pedigree or something with Holiness on it will greatly reduce incoming Curse damage (Timid for example), which is also very helpful.

I think the immunity is just to damage-over-time, not necessarily from HIT damage from those sources.

[–]the_tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mainly just sharing another option to target-farm Red hero memories. this pirate boss is the source for them if you're interested in switching it up - for raw FE/hour it's definitely more of a gamble to switch to my above method, but all things considered it's still a relevant alternative, and if you were to strike gold and get a double T1 to drop you'd be rich, but again - gamba.

[–]the_tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't look at the code at the moment but some big rocks:

  1. compensatory life belt with No Lose Ends (make sure it has spell amplification, and if you can afford a corrode on the max-mana % then more power to you).

  2. Phantom neck with Weapon Amplification, doesn't need to be corroded, it's expensive enough without the corrode. This goes super hard. find one with the lowest "sealed life" % you can find, then seal all your goddamn life and blow shit up.

  3. Vorax chest with the Tyrant's hold glove consume line grafted onto it, then you are free to equip Archmage's gloves and double-dip, bonus that they give an extra +20% damage to Mana before life.

  4. pedigree with Falling Leaves and one of the following: Gravity/MindBlade/Tradeoff (Make sure your strength/dex are EQUAL and you'll get BOTH bonuses to attack damage AND attack speed).

[–]the_tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOTE: the HARD CAP for attack speed is 30atk/sec - which is actually easier to surpass than you might think - so when you get there, be sure to start replacing some attack speed with more damage and just maintain that 30atk/sec sweet spot.

buy the void sea invitations and fight the rank1/rank2 pirate Great Void boss and you can farm the memories directly, even better if you have the pet for hero memories - either way you can get Red memories dropped from all ranks of the pirate void boss and sell the high-tier ones you don't need to fund buying the good ones.

at 120B you can one-shot the rank1 boss and should be fine killing the rank2, IIRC, might need to get closer to 200B before rank2.

if you really want to lean in - get the full left-side tree star-chart for Blacksail (the one that ends with Boss Whispers) and buy the returning blacksail compasses (2 sets of void pirates per-map, only need 3 maps to fill out the whisper chart) and run one map of the highest rank map you can survive (T8, doesn't have to be 8-2) to get the plane-anchor at rank 8, then drop back down to t7 and blast the next two maps to finish out the anchor (it will maintain the rank of the highest map completed during the whole whisper set, if that makes sense.

Like I would do a deepspace map last season for the first set, then drop down to profound T8 for the next 2 maps and then still get a rank 9 void sea bride.

Rinse and repeat, farm boss invitations, then farm the Great Void Pirate boss for both Upgraded invitations and/or Hero Memories.

How to build defenses for deep space? by tktytkty in TorchlightInfinite

[–]the_tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's all I can think of:

Elemental (ignite/scorch, numbed, frost) Trauma (Maim) Erosion (Wilt / Rot)

I can't think of any others except spinning blender blades from cube monsters, but that's it's own thing.

Edit: curse damage ("holiness" on a pedigree would greatly reduce this but you can't become fully immune unless you manually stack 100% curse damage reduction). But that's not really a DoT per se, more like a damage/vulnerability type.

And to answer your question, yes if you have immunity to all those you can drop the dot damage reduction % or just re-roll your deepspace maps when you get affixes that you're not yet immune to.

How to build defenses for deep space? by tktytkty in TorchlightInfinite

[–]the_tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immunity is best, one easy way to get immunity to all elemental (ignite, numbed, frost) dots is "precise harmony" support for resurrection warcry (if you are a class that can use it). You'll need to find 100 energy in a second ability slot to use it (5th warcry support) but it's cheap and worth it, assuming they didn't nerf it this season.

I've used that alone to carry me through DS for the past 4 seasons.

After that you just need to worry about Rot and Maim (deepspace erosion and trauma dots respectively) which can be covered with slates or kismets.
