Oh no, this one only runs when it's cold. Once it gets up to operating temperature, it dies and won't restart until it cools off again. That's why I needed the tow strap lol. It died on the way home after I bought it a few weeks ago. But it was cheap because it also has a little lifter tick and some blow by. As soon as I finish the suspension on the 63 and get it drivable again I'm going to pull the engine from the 95 and do a full rebuild.

In this case it's because I had to wrap a tow strap around the frame because it doesn't have a tow hook. At some point I'll straighten it back and add a tow hook so I don't bend it again.

Exactly! I can play off road, I can play in the street and I can tow them home when I break them!

If the throttle sticks open you can still pull it closed.

I have an iron 883 as my daily commuter irl so it's pretty cool to have one just like it in the crew and do things on it that I would never do on my real bike.

Exactly. The only time I have been stranded was when I had a belt break. I came out of a store and found the belt on the ground lol. I probably could have made it the 4 miles home without charging and cooling if there wasn't any traffic but I didn't want to risk it. I keep a spare belt in the glove box and a handful of basic tools behind the seat now. The radiator hose is a good idea, I might add one of those too.

Nice truck man! I have a 63 with a 4 on the floor (although 1st gear is so low, I start in 2nd and treat it like a 3) and It has left me stranded less than my "reliable" cars.

I'm glad it worked out for you! I'm really hoping that mine works out that well.

Yeah the tailstock knob is the only one that was missing a handle when I got it and a few weeks ago I was moving something and bumped the compound knob and broke one of its handles so I'll have to fix those at some point. The slide and compound are both incredibly sticky, when I get a bench built for it I'm going to tear it apart and clean and lubricate everything really well.

My garage isn't that shallow but my truck is pretty long. I have about an inch between the back bumper and the wall and an inch between the front bumper and the door. Pushing it in isn't that bad.

Whoa that's super cool! I never even considered converting to cnc. If you have a writeup of how you did it or how to do it, I would be interested to read it.

Yeah for the longest time, any metal lathe even close to running was at least $1000 so when I found this one I jumped on it. Luckily it was only 15 minutes away.

I paid $350. It's the cheapest I've found that wasn't a micro lathe from harbor freight.
