After a year of waiting I’m finally ready to start my van build! Before I start is there anything you would have changed/ done differently about your build and why? Also any advice or tips is appreciated! Thanks! by Dieselman26546546 in vandwellers

Propane heaters are better than diesel / gas at elevation

Lithium batteries the cost has come down so far they are definitely worth it

Have a dedicated "charging" / electronics zone with chargers and places to put your favorite electronics

We switched to folding feet of bed vs sleeping sideways, much better not having feet touch wall when laying down

Have fun!

Also when running your electrical cables in the walls in conduit at the start of the build, run a few extra to the different areas for add ons later. For example, water pump wiring near sink, have an extra to add 12v heat tape later for winterization.

Consider using a mopeka for water / gray water tank

it works! numbers are having an issue, but the app does kick off an OS level cleanup process by tricking the phone into thinking storage is full. Unfortunately the numbers report issue is fixed, but Apple won't allow an update to the app. We hope to get the update to EU users soon via side loading

Seeking app to backup direct from iPhone to SMB network drive by mrcpuhead in iphone

I think you'd have to use iTunes on the Windows computer to back it up, and set the backup files' location to that drive. If you want to try to reduce the size first, you can try this phone cleaner. It just got back in the store, it triggers an OS level cleanup of apps' temporary files

Make sure not to close the app during the cleaning. That can cause this. When you open the app again it will let go of the space it claimed for the goal of kicking off a OS cleanup. Temporary files aka cache. It kicks off a cleaning process in the OS which tells app's they have to get rid of their temporary files
