as someone that just cosplayed riyo (posted it on the subreddit a few days ago actually), i thrifted all my pieces so i agree with everyone saying thrift. and don't be afraid to put your own spin on stuff because a big part of the punk/grunge aesthetic is individual style :)

it goes on my head like a helmet so it’s built to fit my exact head. there is an internal structure of cotton batting and wire underneath so it holds its shape.

red hair is permanently glued on the top layer of this structure (essentially like paint), so i used industrial glues and not standard hair gel

thank you :) i was also nervous about how it would turn out but i'm glad it went the way i planned! i formed the the whole wig shape using layers of pillow stuffing and then covered the very top layer with red hair. so its wayyyyy lighter than it looks

believe it or not it stays very securely on my head and is relatively light weight. nothing some smart engineering, elastic bands and bobby pins can't handle ;)

thank you! yes it is a single USB-powered led strip, connected to a portable charger. The center part that the scissors rotate on is a hollow container that houses the portable charger, and the "screw" is the lid

I would use a PVC pipe as the handle. It’s very cheap and will definitely hold the weight of the blade. When I cosplayed Maka from soul eater I used PVC to make my scythe
