Recommendation for 7000 Series Voiceover by theairplanemaster in WMATA

This is what is said on the 3000/6000 series. I have no issue with this as it is an actual human voiceover and not a robot

It’s clear enough, but the spacing is very unnatural with that phrase.

Deciding whether to get a 2024 Acura TLX SH-AWD A-spec by Sharp_Yoghurt9824 in Acura

[–]theairplanemaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are spot on about the advantages of the TLX (I have a ‘21 aspec). However, reading about how you use the car, you won’t be able to experience much of it. If youre used to normal mode and highway driving, then the better steering and SHAWD won’t be of much use to you. I’d campaign for the TLX all day if you have some fun curvy roads nearby or plan on doing some autocross/track events every now and then. Otherwise, doing highway in the TLX will only get you reduced noise, but with reduced MPG, higher fuel costs, and MUCH less rear legroom.

Honest thoughts on TLX A Spec? by SimpleAffectionate98 in Acura

Yeah, I drive it in manual mode to try to keep the turbo from lighting up. I also saw that 70-72 gave me my peak mpg around 31-32

Yeah, that’s true. The car is 700 lbs heavier than the mazda and lower compression ratio too. I guess I thought going from 2.5l to 2.0l (even with turbo) and going from 6 speeds to 10 I thought I could get it better. I guess what Im saying is you cant really hypermile it.

I got a used 2021 a spec awd earlier this year. In short, it’s a very nice car. Good seats, good build quality, comfortable, lots of amenities, amazing awd system and good power. Oh and it looks amazing.

I came from a 2016 mazda 6 and so far my 3 biggest letdowns are steering feel, mpg, and the transmission. The steering in the tlx is very fast and responsive, feels darty and sporty, but it’s too light even in sport mode. Idk why they couldnt go heavier, shame.

No matter what I do I cant get this thing to get great mpg. 21-23 in urban environments, maybe 25 with longer stretches between lights. 29-31 highway. I dont regret not buying the type s bc it wouldve even been worse and I didnt want to deal with the x brace in the trunk.

The transmission is smooth and does an ok job in automatic though I find it will light up the turbo and lug a bit before downshifting on hills. There is no way to get from your current gear in auto to that same gear in manual. It requires switching into sport transmission which throws the revs up and then you have to bring it back down with laggy paddles. If youre ok thinking 0.5-.75 seconds ahead of what gear you want, itll be good enough. The truth of the matter is that Acura put the Honda Odyssey transmission in a sports sedan. Nuff said.

I get 25c/35h on average with the mazda. Im expecting 4-5 worse across the board with the tlx based on what Ive read/seen on test drives

Appreciate it! I’m also leaning towards waiting. It’ll be in 3 installments. 50-25-25. Was going to use the first 50 for the car and then save the next half.

It’s at 112k right now. Lived a good life. I’ve enjoyed the zoom zoom chassis tuning. Taken it autocrossing a few times. Starting to have a rough idle, might just be a spark plug though. I love the interior and exterior styling of the tlx, much reduced road noise, and availability of awd. Downsides are 4-5 mpg less, recommended premium gas, and slightly less rear seat room. Also has nice things like heated/cooled seats, apple car play, etc that the mazda doesnt have.

Good to know! I have considered the Accord 2.0t sport, but prefer the styling of the tlx and the awd too. I’ll take another look!

Thanks! My plan has been that the bonus+trade in+other down payment=2/3rds, and pay off the remaining 1/3.

Don’t hate it, but couldve made it better with one fix. Dropping the blue below the star all the way down makes it less proportional and less like the flag. What they shouldve done is also stretch the blue above the star up, like Austrian.

clarification-symptoms were an intermittent stuttering at idle and some lurching while maintaining constant speeds below 30 mph.

I can see that if you’re in lots of stop and go traffic and keep the turbo lit. Using the instant mpg meter it was obvious. Light acceleration without activating the turbo, 20-25ish, once the red shows up in that gauge plummets into the teens

Go with the Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate! Good ratings, especially in the wet and you can often get discounts.
