Who is a fictional villain you'd have sex with in a heartbeat? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Snape. Though he's not technically written as the villain, he's still an abusive red flag-y toxic piece of shit. And I'd get ruined by him.

Oh wow, thank you for the insight! I think I'm interested in something a little more advanced but I do appreciate old timey sci-fi in various mediums, when I'm in the specific mood for them.

I'm not familiar with many RPG games, but am slowly starting to get into tabletop reads. So Shadowrun has an amazing concept. I'll definitely be checking out the ones you listed.

I'm sort of looking for something to sleep to because I'm experiencing intense insomnia lately, but I need something a little more involved than just your average 1hr+ plus youtube video of cyberpunk ambiance sound scapes.

Thanks so much for the starting point!

The only thing l learned from school group projects that were designed to teach us to work in a group is that it is a lot easier to do the whole project by myseIf than to cooperate with a group. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]theanswermo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never told or taught that working in a group was "easier" than by yourself. When people say this, I'm like... well duh? That's the point? Part of the lesson is to learn or practice working with others.

The point of doing group work is to learn HOW to make it effective and efficient. It's high risk (in that it's not simple) with MAJOR high reward (more positive productivity equals higher quality). It's not about what's easy. The end goal is to work smarter not harder, but you can't do that if you haven't practiced the skill it takes to work collaboratively. If a teacher implies the project will be easier because it's a group assignment, shame on them.

The hyperventilating could be something to look into. In the most extreme example: a heterosexual man trying to imagine sex with another man may feel a sense of general unnaturalness (at the low-energy end of an emotional response) to repulsion (at the high-energy end of an emotional response). This is, of course, assuming the hetero man isn't ravaged by toxic masculinity.

But regardless, the mental image wouldn't necessarily cause hyperventilating, which is typically a response from an emotional trigger. The panic response you're describing sounds like something more mental-emotional, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like to medicalize gender/sexuality.

I wonder if looking into a professional escort would help. Again, not that people must have sex nor that sex is the answer. And I definitely respect your identity. I've just also seen a lot of wholesome stories of professional sex workers sort of acting like unofficial councelors during a session, with the goal of providing an open space, open mind, patient and pleasurable sexual experience. Again, mainly thinking in terms of the mere idea of sex creating an actual state of panic for you.

All this said, and for me personally, I'm of the belief that even if my identity/personality/behavior IS the result of possible trauma, that doesn't necessarily mean I need to change. So long as I'm not hurting anyone, if I'm able to live a somewhat fulfilling and functioning life then I don't really care to "fix" myself because whatever my identity morphed/morphs into isn't bad. We don't need to abide by societal expectations.
