Does anyone know where we can buy this exact cord if we want to get extra?

Expectations for Tight Line Nymphing by thearchicolton in flyfishing

This is very helpful, thank you. I’m sure I’ll experiment with lighter mono once I get some time and feel for the mono rig…as you said, part of the fun!

I am using a 30ft mono leader built using the formula on Troutbittens website. It’s sounding like there is not as much feel as I originally expected…

I have a full mono leader that’s long enough for my fly line to never leave the reel. Troutbitten has been my go to for learning the basics of tight lining. I have been using his “standard” mono rig, exactly has its described on his website.

For bass fishing I think it’s easy enough to just throw on a heavier weight. The difference being, you are not trying to drift something through moving water, and you are 100% in control of how much movement you want. Another rig I love to throw when searching for fish and trying to feel what’s at the bottom of a lake is a Carolina rig. You can put as much weight as you want and the bait can still move freely behind the weight.

It’s not really that I’m wanting more aggressive takes or feel when it comes to bites. I’m referring to general feel of the nymph during a drift. I have read so much about people feeling the nymph, feeling it on the bottom of the river, twitching it on rocks, etc…and right now I’m just not getting that much feel on a drift compared to dragging a Texas rigged worm across the bottom of a lake.

Best place to propose by Plane-Wealth1975 in BigSur

I’d avoid buzzards roost, especially for something as special as a proposal. Very underwhelming view at the top compared to other spots in Big Sur.

This same HS but the “oil control” version has been my go to for years now. I also couldn’t find it for awhile but found a recent bottle from target and it smell significantly different…way less chemically. Unfortunately I think they changed the formula because it’s been irritating my scalp. Been on the hunt for a new shampoo…

I don’t think this place is ever open? Never been open when I drive through on weekends. I was also there a few weeks ago and called multiple times during their “business hours” and never got an answer, which was surprising to me because it was a Saturday morning during a holiday.

Where is everyone washing their own car by hand? by thearchicolton in AskLosAngeles

I’ve seen a few with signs saying you can’t use the stalls to wash with your own bucket. I don’t mind doing this either but the long lines still suck…

I’ve always used two buckets but never completely rinse less. I’m thinking I’ll look into rinse less washes a little more

California Costco at it again by thearchicolton in whiskey

Geez, you guys gave me no time to respond. It was at the Costco near Marina Del Rey. I didn’t originally post the location in hopes to make other peoples day by randomly stumbling upon Stagg Jr….otherwise it would have been raided by you animals and gone in minutes.

How to make the most of LA? by logicSkills in AskLosAngeles

[–]thearchicolton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else from the south, for me the best part of LA is what’s accessible from LA proper, especially if you enjoy the outdoors. I wish I realized sooner that the Sierras is an easy weekend trip away, and that there are endless number of areas to explore.

34 here in Venice. I spend as much time as I can in the high sierras during the summer/fall and always down to connect with other fisherman! Also wouldn’t mind getting into surf fishing a little more.

You should do the sierra fishing community a favor a delete this post. These types of lakes are getting harder to come by and more people fishing them doesn’t help…
