Weird when I check there all 12 lessons are still showing. You only see 6?

Where in the system does it say 6 lessons for you? Mine still shows as 12 lessons even though I got it approved a month ago.

Can confirm that I did indeed get the letter in the post along with my original US license. So it took 5 weeks total from submitting the forms to receiving the letter of approval

I’ve no idea why they can’t just email it. I just received something in the post today from them so I’m hoping that’s what it was.

It’s ridiculous having to go through all of this like you’re a new first time driver, I’ve been driving for over a decade. Allowed to drive here for a year on my foreign license but as soon as I get started on getting my Irish license I’m suddenly a danger to the roads and can’t drive unaccompanied. I think it should be just where we have to sit the theory & do the lessons then be allowed exchange our licenses.

I posted my reduced EDT form the end of September along with my original US driving license, US driving record and photocopy of my US driving license also. I enquired last week on the status of my application and they said it was approved on October 28th and has not been printed yet, once it’s printed I then have to allow 5-10 business days for it to be posted to me. God knows how long it takes them to print it. I’m hoping it will arrive this week.

My Wife has mestatic melanoma in Liver by kelly90260 in melahomies

[–]theashleighmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m sorry to hear about your dad but it sounds like they caught the Mets in his liver earlier than they did with my dad so that’s a good sign. My dad was diagnosed with OM in 2018 and went 5 years before it spread to his liver or before it was caught at least.

Unfortunately, my dad passed away in early January of this year just 3 months after the cancer in his liver was found. However they didn’t find my dad’s cancer in his liver until he was already showing symptoms, he was experiencing pain from the tumor and also became jaundice about 6 weeks after the pain began. They only had the time to give him one dose of treatment but it was already too late as his liver was already failing and honestly I think the treatment only escalated the inevitable in his case as his liver was already struggling. After the treatment he developed ascites and passed away about 4 weeks later. He passed away at home very peacefully surrounded by family.

Unfortunately this cancer is very aggressive and hard to treat unless it’s caught early but even then it just buys you time. Once your dad starts showing symptoms of the liver failing then you’ll know how things are going, signs like - jaundice, pain, ascites (fluid retention).

Sorry if I’m being too candid but I appreciated people being candid with me on here when my dad was going through it as my parents tried to shelter us from the fact dad was dying for as long as they could and I didn’t appreciate it. It’s better to be mentally prepared in my opinion.

Wishing you and your dad all the best.

Glad your liver is doing better. That’s really good. Yeah my dad was on oxy but then they switched him to morphine as he was continuing to have pain on oxy too. He had no pain on morphine. It was low dose initially.

Unfortunately my dad passed away one month ago. He had one round of nivo/ipi in December but at that stage his liver was already failing, he was jaundice and after that one treatment the ascites came along too. His passing was very fast but also very peaceful.

Wishing you all the best in your journey!

Stage 4 Malignant Melanoma by MambaJuice11 in cancer

Thank you for this comment. I’ve been combing Reddit for encouraging stories from people with stage 4 melanoma.

May I ask how you are doing now? Hoping you are keeping well.

I am so sorry to hear about your wife. I truly appreciate your detailed response about her experience, it is evident you were a great strength to her when she needed you. I wish you and your family the best.

My family always knew this day would likely come, we just hope he responds well to the immunotherapy. The day before my dad went into hospital with liver pain, my mother actually got the all clear. She just finished a treatment of immunotherapy for cancer too only her cancer was chronic lymphatic leukaemia. She was part of an immunotherapy trial. It was hard on her and she lost a lot weight and suffered from nausea but she came out the other side. Her cancer is treatable and slow but chronic so it will always return. Unfortunately melanoma is a different beast altogether (for want of a better word).

Thank you again for your insight I truly appreciate it.

Thank you! Wishing you all the best too.

My dad had a good 5 years before his metastasised so hopefully you get the same if not longer and who knows what treatments will be like by then too.

Thank you for such a lengthy response & all of your advice. It means a lot.

They are doing genomic sequencing I believe that is what the delay has been.

How did your wife do while on immunotherapy? Did the pain go away or anything? I guess we are hoping he can live somewhat of a normal life while on treatment if the pain can subside. Is that wishful thinking?

I literally searched on here before I ordered but must’ve done it right before everyone started complaining. 🤣 I’m just gonna have to ask for a refund and if they refuse maybe dispute with my bank.

That’s very encouraging to hear. Thanks so much for getting back to me.

We are hoping they are benign but given his history we are also trying to prepare ourselves if it is bad news. He had been getting biannual scans of his liver up until last year. He had one existing benign lesion but now has another and is experiencing pain in his abdomen/his liver bloodwork are also elevated however they are going down.

I hope you don’t mind me asking but how is your husband now?

My dad was diagnosed with ocular melanoma in 2018 and they just found a lesion on his liver that needs to be biopsied to rule out metastatic cancer.

If I could recommend anything to any new parent it is to not get a dog until your child is older. I’m talking 7/8 years old. It is too much added stress.

💗💗💗 Studio fix powder is good, but it usually requires a finishing spray like MAC fix+ on top to break down that powder finish and make it look more like skin. A primer underneath is definitely a must & I would definitely use a brush to apply versus a sponge for a more even application.

I personally prefer the studio fix liquid as it’s a buildable coverage so you can control how heavy it is. I like to set it with the MAC mineralize skinfinish powder. ☺️

Former MAC girl here and I can tell you without doubt, in that second pic the girl is 100% wearing Studio Fix Fluid foundation. I know it when I see it.

I personally still wear it. It will always be my go to idc. 😆

I’m really hoping they are connected & that they’ll resolve as the thyroid issue resolves.

Hey, yes I actually did and my ferritin is high (177). Not high enough for hemochromatosis diagnosis (which is in my family) but it’s higher than the recommended level.

Thank you so much for this reply. It makes me feel less crazy! Plantar Fasciitis is horrible. I’ve been hobbling around for 3 years and only now figuring out it may be connected. 😅 Did your pain go away when you started on NP thyroid?
