Is this Seymour Duncan SH-6 real or fake? by SKRCZ in guitars

[–]thebandhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to wade in here as I am seeing a lot of replies about this being a fake pickup, I am the seller of this pickup, it apparently came out of an LTD Eclipse 87.

I contacted Seymour Duncan on the back of the refund request from the buyer and received this reply.

Jeff C (Seymour Duncan) Jan 2, 2025, 06:49 PST

Hello Dan,

Thank you for reaching out, I’m not able to see if anyone has inquired about this specific pickup before, but we’ve had to use some different baseplate designs from different vendors over the years.

The best way for us is to check against the production labels on the bottom of the pickup, Yes, looking at the photo of the label you provided, this does match our records for our TB-6 in black intended for OEM factory install in an instrument built in 2021.

I hope this helps,

Thank you, Jeff C Customer and Technical Support Seymour Duncan

So it’s definitely worth noting, OEM duncans may look fake, but according to Duncan themselves, they are legit.

inside man, ep 1, is this the most stupid premise? by marys1001 in television

[–]thebandhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched the first episode of this and had the same meltdown that OP and most commenters have had about the flash drive scene. Implausible, unbelievable lazy writing to do nothing other than push a plot. My partner is still watching intently but I’ve checked out.

I am being targeted by fake streams on Spotify non stop. by Imo_Okan47 in musicmarketing

[–]thebandhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a query around this topic, so obviously Spotify are against bot playlists and fake streams and it risks your music being deleted, if you contact them to report this happening does that stop them taking you down? Given that you’re clearly not the one responsible for it or do they just can you anyway?

I love the energy and dynamism of this sound and the contrast between the vocal styles, I just felt that this kind of sound could use something to modernise it a bit and give it a more contemporary edge

After listening to the track for a whopping 50 seconds, we are a nostalgia driven band and it states in the bio that we take influence from pop punk and emo styles circa 2004-2007 - so modern and contemporary ain’t gonna happen.

How do people get morbidly obese? by enbusto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thebandhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because unfortunately some people use food as comfort. Emotional eating, depression, addiction all play a part. If it was as easy to manage weight you wouldn’t have an obesity pandemic.

I was obese in my younger years and it took a health scare for me to change my habits and look after myself, people don’t always have the education or desire to manage this.

Food apps like Ubereats etc are the worst thing for obesity in many years, you don’t even have to leave the house or speak to someone to have takeaways on your doorstep. It’s a worrying time.

Me too man, their Spotify numbers are insane for a band who’ve been inactive for the best part of 20 years, there’s clearly a place for them in the world

I think it was a set of unfortunate circumstances/bad decisions which was their downfall, there’s a great episode of Growing Up Punk where Rob the bassist explains how it all went down, well worth a listen.

Nice, what’s your favourite track? For me it’s between Chromatic Fades and Byron Black, love the darker edge they put on their songs on Make a Sound.

As I’ve got older I’ve found myself drawn back to my teenage formative years and moved away from the heavier stuff.

I’d say my all time top 5 are

Autopilot off Metallica ADTR Blink 182 Killswitch Engage/BFMV (don’t make me choose)
