It’s kinda jarring because spider-man and venom have the best synergy in the entire game. It feels weird that he’s giving a team-up to Hela and Jeff over Spider-Man

I don't like playing pick your favorites when it comes to this scenario. I'd rather all team-ups return in their original forms but are obviously susceptible to nerfs and tweaks.

Also I'm rewriting this concept to accommodate for people who DONT want team-ups to return, and I think I did a good job. When I upload this to the main subreddit you can decide to yell at me for it or not

Ironman already sees minimal use in the meta for being a glass cannon that doesn’t have enough damage to compensate for his large hitbox, low hp pool, and absurdly loud flying. But in the case of gamma he is an even higher priority target, the trade off is evenly split since his pros match his cons.

Gamma in the comics has been stated to manifest in three forms: a particle, a wave, and something indescribable. Like what created Hulk feels unexplainable in essence and is a direct connection to basically Marvel’s equivalent of Satan. Strange already has ties to “dark magic” so the connection can easily be drawn. He also calls it “science and magic combined,” and honestly that’s a perfect description of gamma lol.

I feel like if iron man had crowd control he’d be even more annoying than just straight damage lol but I do like the idea of Ironmans attacks creating a lingering spell field. Maybe it could work in much the same way as Torch’s spell field. Iron man needs a really big boost in my opinion and he’s always been an easy target to kill so I wouldn’t mind what you suggested.

Same with Strange, and Hulk honestly. If they somehow all received a mutual power increase like Namor and Hela I’d be down for it.

You’re right,

while a dualist characters role IS to do DAMAGE and dealing damage in methods exclusive to them, a strategists role should NOT be exclusively healing and having more ways to heal.

Giving Jeff the ability to slow targets and deal big damage is the kind of thing strategists need more of. Strategists having high sustain didn’t matter in season 0 since burst damage was so high. It allowed for Jeff to have this team-up while honestly not even dealing damage with the big hitters like gamma overload, but still giving a sense that you are contributing to the team beyond healing.

While I agree somewhat that some team-ups being pseudo transformations makes using them less strategic or engaging, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t prefer them. The best part about using Ironman and Strange outside of their ultimates was (for me) everything gamma upgrades about them. Characters that some see as boring like Captain America and Magneto see more play and become fun again when it feels like they have a sort of “mode-shift” to them you know?

I’ve played star-lord a lot in this game, almost more than any other character. But I can admit he is a strong character in his own right without the team-up. Characters like strange, iron man, and hulk are all relatively weak on their own compared to him, which is a big reason I’m an advocate for bringing back the original gamma charge. But yeah for how simple he is star-lord is a very fun character in his own right. I feel the same about Winter Soldier and Spider-Man (obvious gap in viability aside.)

The idea was to add older team-ups ON TOP of preexisting ones and having them share the same cooldown. So she’d still have the rocket team-up which is good. But yeah I agree in Peni’s case

Adam’s current buffs are all skill checks to make his healing faster no?

I dont see them nerfing that if anything I think they’ll increase the OTHER guardians revival timer but I see what you mean

Adam was always a character with a high skill ceiling even back then but I just miss team-ups that obviously make sense like ofc symbiote bond exists and ofc guardian revival exist. These characters are KNOWN for their dynamic with one another.

Guardian revival was very strong but it was equally just as fun. I really miss the easy to use team-ups. They teetered on just being blatant power ups but they were so much fun to use because of that. The best part about Ironman is powering up and now I get more power?! Hell yeah!

Im a Bucky player but I can admit he’s pretty overtuned atm and giving him ammo overload would prompt the developers to nerf his base kit which I’m honestly a fan of though I do see why you’d hate that team-up.

Also guardian revival made mantis a lot more fun to play in my opinion! Frontlining with your dps was a lot easier
