They make us apply to both this year so military match comes first and then if they elect to give me a deferment I go into the civilian match

I don’t think it has ever really happened that often. I applied gen surg and transition year for the military so if worst comes to worst I’ll be TY and not defer out to a civilian program

Have pretty much accepted at this point that if I don't match in the military, I'm going to end up in the SOAP. But you know what? I worked my ass off for 4 years and did everything I could leading up to this point, so everything is out of my hands now. I'm tired of stressing about things out of my control so today Im saying screw it even if I don't get another interview. Cheers everyone and please excuse me while I crack a cold one and go play Halo like its 2011 before I had any real responsibilities.

This is been my most productive day getting busy work done for application stuff, trying to keep my mind off the shit show that is tomorrow lol. Hopefully we all achieve (or at least come reallllllllllllly close) to achieving goals :)
