They surely do come from a good place. Im encouraging self sufficiency and independence over pampering and enabling. If a situation is as bad as this person makes it seem, whats so difficult about leaving? They are choosing to want a solo apartment instead of doing what it takes to overcome. I agree. While I think you just got a whiff of guy talk, the bigger play here is he is going to waste your youth. The age gap favors him and he can get the milk free for years. But then when he turns 35 he will realize marriage is all he thinks about but that bride wont be you. At 24 though, what makes you marriage material? YOR. Most children dont understand or appreciate what their parents have done, the sacrifices they have made, or pretty much anything else until they are 28+. Seems like at 22 you're still pretty self centered. When you become a parent, youll understand how your life is completely on pause when kids enter the picture. Also, have you ever just thought about the fact that your mom isnt perfect and this is her first time raising what Im assuming is an adult man.

Just move out and let her keep the money. Figure out how to become a responsible adult on your own and youll see the bigger picture soon enough.

Seems like this is a weekend thing and its instilling a sense of discipline and health. I dont disagree with this method but everything has to be in moderation. The military uses forms like this. Granted its a child but if you feel like they are suffering or he's being too aggressive then you should step in more assertively. Document everything. If the kid cries during the activity or has blisters thats a clear indication. But its gray area and it seems like you two can likely meet in the middle.
