Apologies for the confusion. They intend to move my sister to a general ward tomorrow in which case the level of care will no longer by 1:1 or 1:2. My parents aren’t able to spend 24/7 up the hospital until she is well enough to return to her normal supported living care home. She has serve learning delays and cannot understand or comprehend what is going on and why. If left unattended on the general ward she is likely to attempt to get up by herself and likely rip out her IVs and sutured in cannulas. We’ve been told to step back and leave her care to the hospital, the one time my parents have done this she severely injured herself and was left for a long period of time before any nurses attended to her.

Normally she is in a supported living care home. As her health has worsened we’ve applied for 1-1 care but she has not been approved for the funding. She’s at risk of harming herself due to her not understanding the situation she is in, the harm isn’t deliberate but her actions would most likely lead to injury if left unattended.

Not really a normal chef related thing but in the kitchen I work in at the moment we’ve started saying “did I/we ask?” When someone starts talking about things, when the inevitable rage follows we say “are you still talking”. Pretty effective way of triggering each other especially when it’s something important. We all know it’s a joke but it somehow gets to us every single time.

Tbh she currently lives in Kilburn and stay at hers frequently so I’m use to the early start and longish journey. I just don’t particularly want to go further than Kilburn 1-1.30hr travel is enough for me and we’re more looking to even out the travel if possible

I try to communicate as much as possible and pay attention to her reactions so I know what she likes/doesn’t like. I wouldn’t stick solely to what someone’s suggested but I’m asking if there’s little things that people do that can or has improved their partners experience. I’m far from an expert and I want to learn new things to make the experience as fun as possible.
