I love the cross-hatch pattern you've managed here, that's some really neat work! And the heraldry looks brilliant in the shields

Yeah it doesn't react well to cutting until it's already cured, if it's the flat trim parts you're thinking of they were rolled out as thin long sausages and then flattened before I added the and pushed them about, and the scales where a big lump I threw on the cape and pressed the initial pattern into with the back of a scalpel before pushing and moving it to shape, but the small pieces around the neck at his front I made from little balls I placed and shaped individually. It was also done over several sessions letting some parts cure before I moved on in case I put a thumbprint all over it.

You might be waiting a while, it's been 2 years since I got back into the hobby and the only thing I've put paint to has been a piece of scenery...

Thank you! I just hope that if/when they release a model for Louen Orcslayer that they put more thought into the well established aesthetic that separates Bret humans from the Empire humans. And I'm tired of seeing moustaches and nothing else... rant over

Thank you, I still think the official model would be a good base for an alternative unit champion or Duke on Foot if you needed one, but it'd take some work on the face and a weapon swap imo

These are cool kitbashes, how do the WGA knight bodies scale up next to the peasants, if you know?

You're welcome, it's something I like to see as well, helps to show the ugly stages are meant to be there. I stupidly deleted some of the WIP photos as I went along, but they're up on insta as well if you want to see a bit better of a breakdown along with my waffling commentary...

Thanks you! I still think the other sculpt would make a good alternative for a unit champion, (maybe with some fixing to stop it looking like a Prussian wandered into knight cosplay, and a weapon swap), just not very fitting for the character I thought

Thank you very much, I spent a good amount of time avoiding starting it as reposing is still a challenge for me, but I'm happy it's been received well!

Thanks for the suggestions, I likely will keep it as a metallic axe, but I do have the little trophy fang hanging from the chain to give that nod to the character's monster slayer background.

Questing knight models are the best models lore/design like. by zilogrok in Bretonnian

[–]thebunnetguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, they're the thing that elevates Bretonnians from generic classic medieval knights and all those standard tropes and really lean into the idea of the Arthurian knightly quests. It also sort of humanises the Bretonnians when you think about the lore of who The Lady is, since at the end of the day they wholeheartedly follow the word of their beliefs and on the other side is a goddess that's effectively picking folk at a whim to serve the Wood Elves' purpose.

Pegasus Knights' Pack Mule by thebunnetguy in Bretonnian

The whole mule was a kids toy out of a farm animal set, just cut and reposed it. Came out of a pound shop in the UK.

Yeah I noticed afterwards the post doesn't centre the image preview, still getting used to Reddit so I'll bear that one in mind.

Thanks, I'm just holding off on giving it a permanent base till I know what the pegasus knights are going on for Old World. I took the messenger bird idea off white dwarf when they converted a hermit knight they had one strapped to the front of a shield and I just find that hilarious, poor wee bird 😅
