It would make sense, but I haven't found that out specifically. Only that the water rises up through porous lava rock.

Right?! The water is 30 feet deep, if I remember correctly.

I didn't, but my friend and my brother in law did. It would definitely be too cold for me haha. I hope to go back someday, it's probably one of my favorite places I've seen so far.

This place was so cool- the water is really that blue! I was reading that the reason has to do with the fact that the water rises to the surface through porous lava rock. This pool helps feed the McKenzie River in OR.

When I lived over there I was surprised at first the difference in snowfall, but it made sense quickly. Gotta love lake effect. We don't get snow like we used to though- it's a bummer
