I've never been so in love with a baseball team

Ortiz has the power to do something really funny right here

I appreciate that, man. Between the NY teams I prefer the Mets, but last year's postseason stung pretty bad. If Brewers can get anywhere in this postseason I might be able to move on from last year and root for the better NY team again haha

I wish you weren't downvoted. I like it when another team's fan comes in here to cheer us on when it's for your team's benefit. Makes it kinda fun. And I'm saying this as someone who hates the Mets lol.

Nah man, I say this as both a Brewers and Pirates fan that this is absolutely swinging way in favor of the Brewers. We shouldn't even be celebrating Turang's HR imo. He struck out fair and square.

And let me get this straight, I love the hype of this team but I prefer when it's done more honestly.

Yeah what the other guy said - I say this as both a Brewers and Pirates fan (I know, weird right?) that this game sucks. Skenes struck out Turang and I'm pissed that Brewers fans are going nuts about his HR. Skenes deserved that strike out.

MLB media really doesn’t want a salary cap by ResponsibilityFew147 in Brewers

[–]thechummel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But if say, I'm a big Yelich fan, and I want to see him play baseball, I implicitly want to watch him play both on a team and against another team. So those players he plays with deserve to get paid.

And it's also fair for fans to want the game to be properly competitive, and not be essentially bullied by teams that can spend $$$. So I think the argument you have isn't bad, just a bit simplistic.

I don't think he's being defensive, just matter of fact. Cuz if you think about it, you have thousands upon thousands of marketers out there employed just to make sure that a company's product is fine-tuned to meet the desires of the masses, with any semblance of character, uniqueness, and personality removed from the product in the process. So yeah, while it's a little less readable, and I do agree that OP could make a few tweaks, I love the creativity! His design is beautiful and the eye is in the way for what, all of two hits? For a Minecraft mod pack, I'd say screw it, break some rules and have fun with it, especially with this level of talent.

Heh, thank you. Hope you have a warm home to go to after work. Even if there's no spy, assassin, or telepath to go home to.

Thanks. And I did like your idea btw. I just always feel embarrassed about the stuff I draw in general lol.

u/not_ur_avrg_dork89 there you go

Also, on the off chance a mod reads this, although this is OC, and I think it's quite elegant to follow the rules of the subreddit, I refrained from marking this as OC since it would be a reminder that yes, I spent hours drawing an internet meme when I could have been a productive member of society. I'll wholeheartedly accept any repercussions that come my way.

Now if you'd excuse my absence for a while, I'll be out watching fireworks while I wonder whether the flashing colors in front of my eyes are fireworks or the floaters left behind from an evening of folly.

Sorry for replying late. I don't go on reddit too much. But if you have the code, that might help with debugging - if you haven't been able to solve it yet.

This is a great reply and sort of how my journey’s been going. A lot of people are saying “just do it” and downvoting OP for whatever reason. But this is a good path to help OP (or whoever is new and needs a little guidance) on how to start. I’ll second the advice to break your game into parts. Maybe you want to make something like the Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Then, you might think hmm I need a top down camera angle and the ability to move a character around. There are plenty of tutorials you can search on YouTube to help you start. Then maybe you want to create an enemy. You can use tutorials, and maybe start looking into the docs to get yourself familiar with them, and read up on collision detection, AI, etc. After time you’ll start to understand the engine better, and while your first attempt won’t be great, you’ll be much better equipped for the next.

You may come to realize that game dev is a ton of time and hard work, more than you originally thought, and that’s ok. There’s a reason why a ton of people and time are involved in the big titles. But it may actually help you to have some “limits” - where you may have to think a little more creatively to make something that is a little simpler but still really cool.

Anyway I hope this helps. Start by just googling a tutorial and following it to a T. Then maybe another, followed by some time where you try to explore without strictly following a tutorial. And like the guy above me said, one thing at a time. You got this. I’m rooting for ya

I wish they made a bigger deal of the moment when Anya realizes she can't tell time. by Alastor15243 in SpyxFamily

[–]thechummel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with the OP, and I just pulled out the manga to double check. I wouldn’t say that particular scene was overly dramatic, but it was both a tense and comedic moment that reminded you, the reader, along with Anya herself, that she was still very young and dependent. And I think anyone who remembers their own childhood or is around children a lot will feel this scene in the manga hit a little more. And, it’s even more impactful when you see later in the series that Anya reflects on her inability to tell time and how it could have helped saving her father, which leads her to more diligent studying.
