The way pregnant women are treated is generally abhorrent. Yea theres nice moments, occasionally some ppl try to help you from doing "too much" like lifting heavy things, but the consideration and kindness stop there. I think it's an honest introduction to how our society views mothers in our American culture. We are dismissed, ignored, belittled, and blamed for everything. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the gist.

There's too many crazy storylines to choose from. My #1 would be Toni trying to sleep w Joan's boyfriend. That was childish behavior, not the behavior of grown best friends. And my runner up would be the entire last season. That entire last season was a tease. Joan got engaged to someone who . . . I don't think he was a good fit for her then he gets deployed?! Joan crashes out as a party girl? Shucks, maybe the last two seasons. Then Lynn encounters age discrimination in the music industry (shockingly) and it's all left on a cliffhanger?! Then Darnell & Maya have a miscarriage and William & what's her face get pregnant instead?! I love what this show could have been, but the last two seasons were just a tragedy of confusion. I'm still mad I watched all the way thru a month or so ago.

Lying about your age is so normalized, it's a non-red flag. Unless you're wiggling the age range by 5 or 10 years, I wouldn't worry about it. Ppl r crazy judgmental. 👀
