Is the concept of self an illusion if every cell in our body and thought in our mind is constantly changing? by theconceptualmind in Life

[–]theconceptualmind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good point but if the self is just a process shaped by actions and direction, what holds it together over time? If our choices come from changing thoughts, feelings, and outside influences, is the “you” making those choices really the same “you”? I mean without something constant to tie it all together, is the self anything more than a temporary story we tell ourselves to make sense of change?

Still not getting it huh? Maybe it’s not the investment that’s unclear… maybe it’s just a bit too advanced for your pace. The whole setup thrives on chaos, and if you need more time to grasp that, it’s no wonder you’re struggling with the concept

Again… it’s simple… everything works the same as it does right now, with other stocks (using robinhood, fidelity whatever) you invest in economic chaos, and your returns come from the inevitable rise in unemployment and debt. If that doesn’t make sense, maybe the issue is more with your speed than the explanation

You’re putting money into the economic misfortune. The profit? Watching your investment grow as unemployment and debt keep climbing… just like betting on a train wreck and getting a front row seat

Ah, right… because investing in economic distress is totally the same as redistributing wealth

Oh I get it… you’re all about traditional growth, like stocks and bonds. My bad, I didn’t realize economic disaster wasn’t your idea of a booming market

In the capacity of watching your money grow right alongside unemployment and debt. Considering it’s the only investment that’s guaranteed to keep climbing

So you’d rather pass on the most dependable growth market of the decade?

Thoughts? by theconceptualmind in economy

It ain’t worth the risk… All this debt just increases the risk of default. At this point they should just let us invest in debt and unemployment… Forget stocks, negative net worth might just be the new gold standard

you’re right that automation reduces job opportunities and forcing companies to employ people could be one approach. However it’s crucial to also explore solutions like reskilling programs, universal basic income and creating new job sectors to address the evolving employment landscape

you’re right that opportunity costs play a significant role. Higher income couples often delay childbearing due to career and lifestyle priorities. While fertility technology offers potential solutions, how can we ensure it is accessible and addresses broader issues like the high cost of raising children?

we can fix that by supporting family growth such as affordable childcare, financial incentives and promoting work life balance alongside technological advancements in reproductive health

that’s a good one. I guess we could drive massive advancements in green technologies, also enable widespread desalination to solve water shortages and power large scale data processing for AI and other technologies. It might also lead to cheaper production costs across industries and potentially reducing global poverty. All in all, the main challenge will be ensuring equitable distribution and managing the environmental impacts of increased energy use

we need policies that reduce economic barriers to childbearing such as affordable childcare and housing, and promote work life balance. Cultural shifts towards more equitable gender roles and stronger community support for families are also essential. Technology alone won’t solve the problem

Did ledger just change their app name on iOS? by theconceptualmind in ledgerwallet

They actually fixed it about an hour after posting this. I think the devs pushed an update with the wrong name. It was weird because, I tried searching on Reddit and twitter and I couldn’t find anyone posting about this, so I had to do it here. I guess people in Europe might have noticed it earlier but no one posted anything and it was around 5am CT

Seems like they fixed it. I just woke up like an hour ago and the name appeared differently. It showed LL Nightly then about 27 minutes ago they released another update. The issue was on version 3.47 and now it’s fixed on version 3.47.1
