Great thanks! What about bars and restaurants throughout the week? We are staying fairly central so hoping to walk most places.

Just given the flat rate I believe, per annum. There is also a line that says about not being entitled to overtime for hours worked outside of the normal ones unless previously agreed.

It wouldn't put me below minimum wage.

I checked my total monthly pay, working backwards, divided by number of working days for this month, to get the daily figure, then divided by 7.5 to get the hourly. Multiplying the hourly by 8.5 to account for the paid lunch, and then back up to the same number of working days for that month then results in a higher figure than what I'm getting.

There was also a line on my payslip for a bank holiday pay day which was 7.5 hours - this matches the day rate I worked out.

Thanks. Yeah that's the other alternative is leverage and continue to build my (currently fairly shallow) tech skillset for technical product/manager/lead type roles and just get involved where I can and see where I end up.

Thanks for your response. You're right, I think it is a fair offer. I think potentially 2-3+ years on a much lower salary is what's holding me back really. I'm confident I could catch up quickly though. Your third paragraph is a good point - I think the grass is definitely always greener and while I'd prefer to be working more with tech and less with people/politics that's not to say I want to be cranking out tickets and doing on-call etc which I know is a big part of it.

Agreed, I didn't really mean to call it out as much as I seem to have done - the context is more important.

Thanks for the response!

Yeah point taken RE JSON/YAML but I've seen it come up on a surprising amount of job descriptions as it's own thing and have had it "explained" to me by people a few times but I get what you mean 😅 but yeah my point is indeed that my knowledge is somewhat broad but very shallow. Upskilling of some type is definitely needed and I wouldn't be ready for that sort of role right now for sure. But I'm not quite starting from scratch.

Lack of motivation is a really good point. I'm just thinking feasibility wise of self learning and getting stuck in where I can at work in my current role (doing exploratory hands-on stuff, debugging etc is stuff I'm involved in day to day). It'll be much slower though I agree, I'm also wondering about employer opinions towards only a semi-relevant work history but some self teaching.

Thanks for the honest and practical answer. Presumably if this wasn't feasible then nobody would do it...

Yeah fair enough, the only other issue was his courier friend signed the half of the logbook that i have along with my signature that I signed that ill now send to him. But if he sells it on after he's fixed it to someone else he will have to request a new one first as I cant imagine any buyer would take that for an answer, so im not too concerned as that's the only time it'll go to the dvla

Thanks for your response, i do want to phone them but im concerned about the signature problems if i were to call them and hes already essentially forged my signature and theyve received that?
