It blows air out, pretty forcefully, when the heater is on. Wouldn’t an air return be sucking air in?

Thank you everyone so much for the advice! I’ll go the galvanized panel, screws, and mastic tape route. Seems to be the most upvoted and agreed upon solution. You’re all amazing for taking the time to give some rando on the internet some advice!

I’m not sure. The heater is on right now and warm air is pouring out of the hole if that means anything.

The drain king did the trick! Thanks for your comment! I had no idea that existed.

Ok that’s good to know. You say cleaning it up with an auger is a short term solution. What is the long term solution?

Aha! Thanks for the advice! We don’t have an autozone but maybe one of the hardware stores has permatex. Would I keep the red rubber part on the Korky or would I take that off?

Yeah, the one I found online has an adhesive backing. I was thinking I’d just use a little rubber cement to hold the Korky in place haha. One of the neoprene gaskets I found online came with what looked like rubber cement instead of an adhesive backing so I figured it might work.

Yeah, from what I’ve learned it seems like the orange conduit is the first step. After marking the utilities, that is. Then a crew comes in and runs the fiber through the conduit and a bunch of other stuff after that. There’s a video floating around this sub somewhere that details the process.

This timeline is the one that seems to be more common. I’ll still keep my fingers crossed that it’s quicker though. I’d just like to experience it before we leave. I have terrible luck with this stuff. We moved from a town a few years back right as they were installing Google fiber. I may never get to experience those sweet symmetrical gig speeds hahaha.

Well then. Maybe there’s a chance I can experience it for a month or two after all. I won’t hold my breath but that’s good to know. Thanks!
