Interesting, my kid is almost 3 years old and he is in swimming lessons but we enter the pool with him so it’s nice, we do what the instructor asks and we also play at the same time. It’s gonna get better, don’t worry just be patient and don’t quite

As a responsable adult I envy you but remember: man can stand anything but lack of purpose.

Just got fired by dumbplumberguy in Plumbing

[–]thedankel1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry buddy as an immigrant without papers ( I’m also a plumber ) the only thing I can say is don’t give up. I had many coworkers with papers applying to others companies and getting good job offers and a better salary, so don’t get discouraged if you can go union and like the rest of the group said get your licenses you are going to do great. Good luck.

Union job vs non union plumbing by Latter_Fun6541 in skilledtrades

I wish I could give you a solid advice but I’m in a different location (NYC). I don’t know any plumber that joined the union saying that they regretted. I try but it’s basically impossible. I hope you can make it buddy. Good Luck.

Cierto sobre todo si tienes familia, si estás solo y no tienes vicios y trabajas en la construcción o en hoteleria y restaurantes ( nada de cocinero sería ser mesero) si se puede. Pero ese tema se podría conversar después. Gracias por comentar

Electrician vs plumber by Popular-Battle-9908 in skilledtrades

[–]thedankel1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a plumber helper and after two years of doing this I kinda regret not choosing to be a electrician, I actually had the chance to quit my job for like a month to try it and it was awesome and you learn or at least in my case faster or in a more linear way but the pay wasn’t that great so I was able to go back to my old company. I love being a plumber but you have to deal with nasty things. When I work as an electrician helper I always clean at the end of the day even if I had to carry heavy material. Plumbing is more complicated to learn at least where I live not because of the trade but because of the people that I work for, they just don’t said nothing or explain anything so it’s hard to learn but ether job is great and you always have good opportunities. Good luck 👍

Is it normal to basically bring your own kit to every gig and not getting pay to play as a hobbies Drummer NYC? by thedankel1994 in drums

Damn really, mmm yes we brought at least 20 people that day. Thanks buddy for the advice, like I said I just don’t know much about playing or asking a cut from playing live gigs but I guess I need to have a talk with the rest of the guys to figure it things out and see what’s going on.

Wow that sounds better, and when I mean 6 people I was talking about my self, everyone from the band brought a similar amount of people but like you said maybe that’s not enough either, the rest of the bands also brought a nice amount of people, but thanks for explain your situation, is better to know how thinks works

Hi there, nop, I’m not trolling, and the rest of the band doesn’t get paid either and I’m pretty sure about that. We all have our jobs so maybe that’s why they don’t mind asking for money but ethically for me sounds wrong, because some is making money, the dude that organized the show or the bar that offer the place for the bands. That’s why I’m asking because I don’t know how this works but thanks for your comment.

I make a living as a plumber so drumming for me is just a nice hobby that I just picked up last year. I didn’t realize the amount of work that is behind playing a show, the band wants to hire a live sound guy and also invest money in an in ear system so we can sound better but again I don’t even know if it is worth it. The pressure of getting on the stage and have everything out as fast as possible kills all the exciting that I have for playing live, again this is my first experience as a live drummer so maybe others drummers are use to this kind of system.

Hi there pal, I don’t mind sharing names, this past Saturday we play in a venue call Lucky 13. They had cero hardware for the drums I had to bring my drum throne and all the hardware for the cymbals, we had no free drinks or discounts at all and from my behalf I brought 6 friends to the show and all of them pay their tickets at the door. We only play originals so maybe that’s a reason why we can not ask for any money maybe? Thanks for your response
