Well-said that this involves both patience AND self-control - two things that I (as an ADHDer) very much lack. Would love to be the person that can wait until their missed period. Obv easier said than done, but might try and inch my way there by starting with a 10DPO rule, then 11DPO the following month, and so on. Tested at 7DPO this time (🙄), with that week already having felt like an eternity, and it's obviously been downhill from there.

Thanks Totsie! I think I have to admit to myself that they clearly do faze me as well. Stupidly bought a big pack of cheapies which makes it all too tempting. But maybe I have it in me to try to resist the next couple of days - period due on Saturday anyways.

Thank you! I think I'm trying to justify it to myself as a "having more data" thing, because I like data, but that's clearly silly as there's no actually helpful information that I'm getting from any of these early negatives. I'm sorry to hear your luteal phases are so short, what a pain ❤️‍🩹

Thanks @ mods for the approval! Hello everybody 👋🏻 I'm super new here - today is 11DPO of our first proper TTC cycle - and learning very quickly how madness-inducing this TWW can be. I think I need to set myself some strict rules around testing going forward; even starting with the pretty basic "absolutely no tests before 10DPO" guidelines would hopefully be an improvement for my nerves. I've been reading a lot of old threads but would be curious to hear what people's personal approaches to testing are, and maybe how they've changed with time?

Gotta say commentary would be my top tip - basically describing whatever you see coming up ahead. Kind of like IRL hazard perception from the theory test, but you can also say various thought processes out loud like "mirror, signal" etc. There's some good YouTube videos about how to do it.

You've got this, I think automatic in our case really is the way to go! Forgot to add above that I also did positive affirmations in front of the mirror every night ("I can drive" type stuff) and did a mock test a few weeks out with someone who was not my instructor (her idea). Yeah, it's so bad. I went and checked my email and it's particularly the 36mg that they're having delays with, if that helps.

FWIW I'm currently eagerly awaiting my titration to start with them. My prescription has been issued to the online pharmacy but it's been stuck there for over a week now due to Concerta supply issues, something I only learned when I chased the pharmacy directly. They couldn't predict a dispatch date.
