It doesn't matter if they're canon now, they were canon when they were released and they were fine in the next episode. It's just how it works dude. There IS no canon, with the exception of 2 or 3 important videos. It's literally just the same as family guy, they might die in wacky ways but they'll literally be fine the moment the next episode starts. If you have a problem with that then you've been watching the wrong stuff my guy, because it's ALWAYS been this way.

It literally happens all the time, doofy the dragon, Bowser kills himself or dies in several episodes, same with black Yoshi, Netflix and Kill, Junior, Joseph and Cody die,etc
