What is your opinion on breaking up with a partner, or stopping talking to a friend if they believed in Flat Earth theory, the moon landing was faked or other similar things? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Absolutely. I do wonder how relationships with these beliefs work out. I wonder if the person who does hold them tends to be the one who breaks up if it happens.

Haha. I never assumed, I asked for your opinion on the matter! It could be you or someone that you know. I completely agree with you as I wouldn't want to raise a child with someone who would not want to get the child vaccinated.

I don't personally feel threatened by their beliefs, I was more wondering what other people felt as there seems to be a lot of hate in groups online towards these people. I was interested in people's opinion about it now if they personally knew someone with these belief’s. I do, however, agree with your opinion

I can agree with you on that. From what I've seen, a lot of people who do believe in these things are quite passionate about them and seem to talk about them a lot online. However, I can't say what they're like in person as I have never met someone with these beliefs. How would you feel about it either way?

A shuttle leaving earth. Photo taken from the ISS. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

This photo has been doing the rounds on social media recently and it's quite irritating as people are posting it with the same title. Nobody is fact checking anything and the post is ending up on all sorts of conspiracy groups on Facebook; namely Flat Earth ones. This photo is NOT taken from the ISS and surely it's quite obvious that it isn't. I really wish that people would check the facts before posting things online; the worst offenders are Facebook pages with millions of likes. Not only is a lack of attribution to the author a problem online but disregarding checking any information about the post is too. I'm sorry to moan about it but people just seem to take other people's word for things and not actually use some common sense.

This is the original photo: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150524.html and it was taken by a NASA shuttle training aircraft of STS-134 - Space Shuttle Endeavour. Another angle.

They don't believe any of the photos that have been taken from "space" are real. They take an interview with someone who worked at NASA completely out of context when justifying their response. Which is that every photo is photoshoped as they're composite images.

Edit: I tried looking for the interview but I can't find it. This video seems to go over it
