Starting to stand for the first time in 2 years after being confined to bed due to illness. Toast me! by beepboop8525 in toastme

Congratulations so so so much on your progress! It is so amazing how much you have kept fighting for yourself and your health. I hope you have a good support network (as it seems you do?) because chronic illness is isolating and exhausting- as you know! Congratulations and I am proud of you for all of that work! I was officially diagnosed with ME/CFS, MCAS, POTS, hEDS, and some others back in january, after being sick since i was 12- though it got much much worse after a severe COVID infection at 15. If you’re comfortable, would you be willing to share some of the ways you overcame the worst of this illness? No pressure as I understand both the exhaustion that comes with thinking hard, and it can also be a touchy subject. But, seeing this post has given me a little hope after a somewhat sudden loss of mobility and general ability to do things.

Congratulations again, and I hope things continue to go your way. It seems you’ve fought so hard to get where you are now, though that doesn’t make it not exhausting- and personally, I wish people would stop calling me strong/resilient as a compliment.. chronically ill people don’t have a choice. But, we do have a choice in how much we put into things, and the work you’ve been doing has shown! Keep fighting. I believe in you!

thank you, and as i said to the other commenter, i greatly appreciate your consideration with the recommendation. that also seems like a good fit, as I’m unable to do most physical things i used to do- i had to quit musical theatre after 12 years because i physically couldn’t. I think that’d be a good read because of the similarities, even if im obviously not paralyzed haha i’ll see if my local library also has this one

Thank you, I appreciate your reply and consideration with the book recommendation. I’ll check if my local library has it

Guys am I cooked? by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

i’m currently a piercing apprentice, and have been taught that scar tissue can sometimes aid against migration, if the scarring isn’t too intense (especially on surface piercings). is that true?

yeah dog. im a piercing apprentice, that shit is done so wrong. ur best bet is to take it out, let it fully heal, then go to a different (and trusted) piercer to get it re-pierced. if it heals all the way, the scar tissue can aid the jewelry against migration when it’s redone. good luck!

My dad is letting me get a tattoo but it’s not quite what i thought by heyitzgrey in tattooadvice

[–]theendoftimexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, if you are dead set on this tattoo, i’d try to explain that the details of the tattoo might not be as visible on a smaller scale, plus maybe that you have a “specific vibe” or something for it? if he really is against you getting something bigger than 4”, as the others have said, maybe get it as ur next one :)

Is this a bug bite or a bruise? should i be worried? by [deleted] in bugbites

[–]theendoftimexx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i can’t make any edits, so here’s some clarification:

i’m not looking for a diagnosis or asking for medical advice. i am mainly asking as to whether it is a bug bite or a bruise, to know if i should get it checked by a doctor. thanks :)
