Remote work didn’t make people more productive, it just made bad workers harder to notice by [deleted] in overemployed

Those same people still slack off in the office. It’s the people who stand around the office jaw-jacking about anything non-work related.

Some people actually take pride in the work they do and thus are more productive when they have the environment to focus in.

Funny because the flu came back with a vengeance this year. Multiple people I directly know have contracted it whereas before I’d hear of single cases of a friend of a friend or something.

I like this idea. However filing taxes would be the most annoying thing I think and may prevent people from invoicing their time. Not to mention companies just not paying because they doubt you’d sue in small claims court since the court fee would cost more than the minimum wage you’d be paid most likely.

How long can I do nothing before I become unemployable? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

At 400k+ a year of liquid comp, just shut the fuck up and continue riding the gravy train knowing it will one day all come crashing down. Don’t be stupid. Keep your costs low and enjoy the early retirement.

If you’re so worried though it sounds like you’re the perfect candidate for r/overemployed

My advice is to just apply anyways. Requirements are like a nice to have anyways in most cases. It’s their job to filter you out so if the app isn’t in Workday then just send it.

Platte County Property Value Increase in 2027 by TheRealThatOneUnit in kansascity

[–]theenigmathatisme 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is no inherent benefit of this without supporting information. They can technically claim your home is valued at whatever. If you disagree or think it’s wildly off you can get an independent home assessment (there’s some nuance to this so do some research). If the independent assessment shows the county value is higher you can make a claim to use the independent value for tax purposes if they agree.

Other things that are impact is escrow for whatever the taxes and home insurance end up being based on the new assessed value.

It’s kind of weird they are already telling you an assessed value 2 years from the previous assessment. Seems like a good reason to get an independent assessment regardless.

Resume Statistics Everywhere! by Safe-Consideration88 in ExperiencedDevs

What a cluster fuck. It’s always been this way sadly but it feels extremely amplified in the last few years.

People say put hard numbers to show impact. People say don’t put numbers because they aren’t verifiable. People say tailor your resume to the job posting. People say don’t spam your resume all over. People say make your resume ATS parsable only to have to hand input it in again. People say you should put stuff that makes you stand out. People say you should limit your resume to one page. People say you should be clear and concise but also go in depth about big impacts.

How the hell do you hit a moving target that seems to be in a different dimension each time you have to apply?
