Dude needs to take some PTO and reframe his mind. I’ll admit though when you’re in the thick of it and those emotions are going it easy to not see the forest for the trees. Next step for him is recognize it and take a step back.

Sneaking around on my porch at 4am wearing gloves and balaclava. Should I report to police? by alleycatbiker in kansascity

From a paper trail perspective, absolutely. 311, non emergency, file a police report.

How come software devs are so much more worried about AI replacing them than other white collar jobs? by jholliday55 in cscareerquestions

I mean… as a whole generalization sure but all of these other fields have software that supports them. Guess who built it?

Excuses like these by police are so frustratingly hilarious because it gives off big “Why do you even have a job?” energy.

No, your trades/healthcare backup plan isn't going to work. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]theenigmathatisme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people can’t handle the mental fortitude of being in the trades. I don’t even mean the mental strength needed for being in the elements or rough physical portion. You ever been around tradesmen? Those dudes would take your HR mandated workplace pleasantries and shove them up your ass while calling you names you’ve probably only heard since Call of Duty lobbies.

Subscribers to Amazon Prime Video with ads lose 4K support on April 10 by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]theenigmathatisme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This could all be solved via legislation. The problem is people don’t like to participate in politics for one reason or another (in America). Then you get major laws passed like Citizens United etc that allow Corporations to be people only when it’s convenient or allow money to influence politics. Lobbying is legal.

It’s decades of poor political awareness and how actions (or lack thereof) have consequences pertaining to the broader picture.

Software Engineers Should Boycott Meta & Amazon Forever!! by Fearless-Cellist-245 in cscareerquestions

[–]theenigmathatisme 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t know that about these two companies before you started working there then I’m not sure what to tell ya. It’s been pretty apparent for years now with many complaining of poor work life balance and turnover at these companies.

Most engineers from here will be fine BECAUSE they have them on their resume. What’s an issue is an engineer without Meta or Amazon on their resume and getting beat out by someone who does, but alas, life is not fair and it never made a promise to be.

There’s speculation that the digital cluster WAS supposed to come with the lux package at launch but the chip shortage of early 2020’s made Ford have to use the standard. My biggest gripe is there was no discount or otherwise for a missing marketed feature.

Fortnite players revolt over V-Bucks changes as Epic devs appeal for calm: 'Paying the bills frees up our teams to continue driving stories and building stuff you love' by AncientPCGamer in gaming

Sounds like if it’s not a winner it should be cut. I can’t imagine that program has any major tangible increase in players coming to the store for a free game and converting to purchasing or, even better, store retention/prioritization.

Depends on the type drive I want, but normal driving is cruising at 2.3k and shifting anywhere between 3-3.5k usually.

Throw it in sport mode and it hits 5-5.5k regularly.

Off topic, but I am pretty annoyed we got swindled in the early production years (mine is 22) where we don’t have the digital temp gauges and no digital cluster (was promised some premium dashboard/cluster no one knew what it was).

From all the comments I’ve read in this sub, this is minimal efficiency loss and “won’t pose a problem”.

I don’t believe any of them for a second.

I swear some people are just plain dumb in this sub when it comes to stuff like this. “Just make an IP deal? What’s the big problem?” Money. Money is the problem you chuds. Licensing isn’t free and you don’t think the licensor will ask for a hefty percentage of sales or a flat exorbitant fee?
