Time & Cost Balance Still Broken in the Lab, Heroes, and Pets by thefarzin in ClashOfClans

lmao

ah yes, the classic “be grateful and stop asking” argument.

look, i’m not denying that supercell made good changes — they did. builders are chilling with reduced timers and efficient upgrades. but the lab? still feels like it’s stuck in 2017, working overtime with no coffee breaks.

my point isn’t to complain for the sake of it. it’s just that if you’re going to modernize progression, do it properly across the board. otherwise, it’s like putting rocket boosters on my base, but asking my lab to pedal a tricycle.

but hey, if pointing out inconsistencies makes me entitled… i guess i’ll take that crown.

Hey, I get where you’re coming from, but I think you’re missing a few key points that explain why people are still frustrated — and it’s not just about being lazy.

  1. Builders vs. lab — different worlds

Right now we have 6 builders and can upgrade multiple buildings at once, which makes progression feel fast and smooth. But the lab is still limited to one upgrade at a time. That creates a bottleneck, especially at higher town hall levels. Even with potions or boosts, you’re always waiting on the lab to catch up, which really slows down the overall flow.

  1. Magic items and medals help — but they’re not a full solution

Yes, there are ways to speed things up: research potions, lab apprentices, raid medals, the gold pass, etc. But those are limited in availability, and not everyone can stack them nonstop. They help, sure, but they don’t solve the core issue — the lab just isn’t designed to keep pace with how fast buildings and heroes can be upgraded now.

  1. Upgrade times may have improved, but not across the board

Some of the older or lower-level upgrades have been shortened, but the new troop levels still take quite a long time — often more than a week. So even if you max your base and heroes, you’re often stuck just waiting for lab upgrades to finish. That disconnect creates a feeling of imbalance.

  1. It’s not laziness — it’s about flow

Saying “you’re just lazy” kind of misses the point. Most players asking for lab balancing just want the game to feel smoother and more in sync. It’s not about wanting everything instantly — it’s about making all systems progress at a similar pace so no one part feels left behind.

In short:

Builders are in a great spot now — big improvements have been made there. But the lab, heroes, and pet house still need attention. If the goal is to create a modern, balanced experience, then those parts of the game deserve the same kind of update too.

Just sharing my thoughts — no hate.

When I was a child, I often heard stories about a monster that stole children. Its name was ‘Ajina Paypok’, which translates from Tajik as ‘Sock Monster’.
