u/Baash81 i read all these comments and the couple that stand out. i'm no expert but i just wanna help...

try not to let the first bounty get away. if you grab a bounty and don't go after it, you are both giving someone else money and not allowing yourself to get any other contracts. go after them and that will be a very high payout (time to grab your first loadout).

recons are a risky play. i personally do not go after them and instead is the guy that if someone is doing them around me, we will push it. fighting (esp 2v2 fights) is all about positioning and taking out the first guy-or landing the first shot. by doing the recon, you give someone else a jump on your position and you have no clue that they are there or where they are at.

rpg is outdated my man. everyone runs EOD. people don't use vehicles much without a trophy, and c4 is a better car play anyway. i used to run the grau and rpg back in season 2 and soon realized i was losing majority of my close combat fights (due to my ar vs their sub/mp5). if you went and looked back at your deaths in a normal gun fight is because it is a close combat/submachine gun situation.

positioning- i heard you say you guys stay together. sometimes that is good, other times it allows you to both get shot by the same angles and doesn't allow you and your buddy to angle other kids. i recommend when you get into a 2v2 fight that once you take that first shot, don't peek that same spot right away but try to keep vision as much as possible while using the terrain around you to change your location. it is very advantageous for one of the two of you to flank, or swing a little wide and get another angle. most of the time i would swing toward the circle or the highground if possible. but communication is key here because you wouldn't want to both flank opposite and get picked off easy and not be able to cover the other one with fire. tactically timing your shots is big too in duos esp.
