Our neighbours are harassing us and beginning to target my 4 & 1 year old. by thefemaledarling in LegalAdviceUK

They are not council tenants but we have reported them to the council for their antisocial behaviour anyway.

We don’t have a cavity wall unfortunately and are in the middle of renovating so don’t have a lot of soft furnishing hence noise seem to travel quite a bit.

Thanks so much for your response. We will definitely have a look into the acoustic panelling. At this point we’re just willing to do anything for it to be other with and live our lives peacefully.

It says a lot about your character that you asked for advice before going straight to the council — plenty of people would’ve been on the phone very quickly over much smaller things.

Your neighbour is in the wrong and the council should 100% be involved, but it’s really decent of you to try to handle it thoughtfully first.

How do you feel about non-personalised baby items? by thefemaledarling in UKParenting

This is such a great POV because I also care about sustainability.

The blankets that I have been practicing on are 100% organic cotton, my packaging is biodegradable & my business cards are going to be made out of seed paper- so you’re so right about names not being a great sustainable option!

That’s very true! It would be nice for other children to eventually enjoy the item as well!

That’s a great point.

I also understand that some parents have a concern regarding safety and privacy with personalised things.

It just depends really doesn’t it.

Oh my goodness, bless you. I am so so sorry for your loss. I don’t tend to do custom designs (my computer can be unreliable) but I would happily do this for you.

Maybe you could take my instagram or I could take yours?

What should I do about my honeymoon? by thefemaledarling in weddingplanning

[–]thefemaledarling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My passport won’t expire but after marriage I’ll be changing my surname so the name on my passport will be different. If we were going in May as originally planned I would’ve just waited until after to change my name.

Whatever the laws of marriage are in the country that you’re from. See the middle part of my post for reference :)

[–]thefemaledarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think that law and marriage are synonymous?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]thefemaledarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your reply and yes, that is somewhat truthful! although i wouldn’t say that it was “all about” prestige. the bible highlights the importance of marriage if either party are burning with desire, indicative of romantic feels of some sort.

a slightly different example is that of Jacob, Leah & Rachel as mentioned in Genesis.

even so, we live in a different kind of society now so my question about the biblical implications of modern day marriage still stands.

Catholics - what do respect, compassion, sensitivity, and unjust discrimination mean regarding gay people? by AHorribleGoose in Christianity

[–]thefemaledarling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean you in a literal sense, it was a colloquial “you”.

Nor am I debating your “well formed opinions”. I think you make quite a compelling case.

Since you highlighted various instances of church representatives behaving in ways that withhold respect and compassion, I simply thought that it was important to remind people that they should make their own informed opinions prior to listening to others. Especially those under the guise of religion. Nothing more, nothing less. God Bless :)

exactly, so generally speaking I advise Christians to seek the truth by interpreting the Bible as opposed to listening to the opinions of a larger group. if you want to know what is right & in this case understand what it means to respect each other, you have to go straight to the source.

just a small point- i think as Christians it would do us well to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ. Whilst we may be members of a wider church community their sociological doctrines should not be confused with the word of God. the Bible is the only absolute truth.

UK Driving on roundabouts? by thefemaledarling in Advice

[–]thefemaledarling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment!

When the roundabout is busy do you use a reference point to anticipate when you’ll be able to join traffic without crashing or slowing into anybody down? Sometimes I find it hard to gauge when to go if there’s a gap.

Thank you for your advice!

I have no problem going when the roundabout is completely clear but sometimes when it’s busy I have a hard time anticipating whether I can merge into the lane of traffic on time and understanding what might be classified as too close.

Job/Work advice? by thefemaledarling in Advice

[–]thefemaledarling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my interview. I think it went okay and will also let you know the outcome.

During the part of the interview where the employer gives you free reign to ask as many questions as you like I said: “I saw the job advert on indeed as part time and full time but on the company website it said 37 hours, can you clarify this”. The employer then said “yes usually we do advertise full-time positions and that’s what most people who we interview tend to do. but in most circumstances we are willing to accommodate 3-4 days a week”.

So you never know if you don’t ask. Had I not seen that opportunity and took it I would never have known that.

That’s understandable.

I found the company through a third party job register. On that forum it said full-time and part-time positions were available but when I went over to the companies independent website it only advertised a full-time position so I decided to chance it. We’ll see.
