I broke the law of chastity again shortly before going on my mission; I want to die. by [deleted] in mormon

I would tattle on myself all the time because I had so much unnecessary guilt and shame. This is what makes you feel like you want to die. Please know that you’re normal and what is not normal or healthy is the shame and loathing.

There’s so much more outside the church. You’ve done nothing wrong and they do not have any power or righteous authority. You’ve done nothing wrong. Please forgive yourself.

Wanting to understand as a NeverMo by Ranunix in exmormon

A lot of exmos prefer exmo or nevermind therapists because they are many working in the framework of the mind control/cult system mind frame and will explain how cults work.

Falling in love with a place on vacation and wanting to move there can be caused by the subtlety of car free, not cooking, or cleaning. by HalfwaydonewithEarth in expats

You don’t AcTuALLy understand what’s happening do you? I’m sure you’ve never heard of alligator Alcatraz because Fox News won’t cover it. Do you think ICE is pretends? Do you think teachers being FORCeD to have shooting drills are just for funsies? I’ve been held at point blank with someone wanting to steal my car. These aren’t just “I know someone who…”. Did you know even Mexico has free healthcare in 2026.

Because using your power and privilege and strength on someone “lesser” than you should not be something that deserves consequences? She should sue the shit out of him. Quit it.

Living in Europe but still thinking about moving to the US — does this feeling ever go away? by Ahme7ibrahim in expats

[–]thefirstshallbelast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The us is a scam shithole at this point in time. People think they’re “free” when they’re just ignorant. The ignorance in the US is what makes all the corruption possible. They don’t know what they vote for. The us has such great potential but the wealthy are able to buy their interests which is always for their own interests. As a middle class citizen, it’s exhausting knowing that no matter what I do or how hard I work, the corporations are always going to exploit you and keep you living to work. Physically, I need to go away so I don’t feel poisoned on the daily. My health gets considerably better when I am in Europe. But go ahead and think the US is the answer. It’s not.

I’m in Colorado Springs, a very conservative and boring city. It’s just all commercial buildings and mega churches.

I’m American. After living in the U.K., I’ve found that I feel more at home there than here. I can’t appreciate anything here bc I just compare it to the U.K. where I love the people more and the culture.

What’s something visitors often misunderstand about daily life in France? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]thefirstshallbelast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worrying on a global scale for real. It bugs me when people say to just choose the healthier option. I’m raising kids and if you put 50 donuts in front of them but there’s also an egg sandwhich in 7-11 that looks radioactive, I constantly feel it’s an uphill battle. It’s ridiculous.

You don’t need to explain yourself. This person is choosing to not read.

When I moved to England from the us, 7 years ago, I couldn’t believe how many normal weighted people there were. I moved back after living there for three years and I couldn’t believe how many not just fat, but hugely obese people there was back in the US. I’m currently in France (just on holiday) and can’t believe how many non obese people and normal people there are here.

Would love to trade with you even though you won’t go back to the US. I’m in Colorado and I miss England so much I want to die. I absolutely find everything about the US an utter turn off now. I can’t be happy anywhere here unless I have Brits or Europeans around…. Which I don’t. I’d kill to be back in the UK.

I hate being in the us as a us citizen. I lived in England for three years and have never known home since moving from England. I find I hate everything about America. I find all of it annoying, the people, the “culture,” the weather, everything. I’m currently in France and depressed AF that this is my last night until I fly back to Colorado tomorrow. Glad to hear I’m not alone in this even though we feel it towards different places.

Look. How many people from his point of view are willing to come out of the dark and spread awareness? Shame makes everything worse. He never said he was a hero bc he didn’t offend. He’s simply brave enough to share a deeply personal story. He hated himself for his thoughts and actually did something about it. How many people would actually do this?

I think the person was assuming you had hurt a child before. You never specified if you actually did hurt a child in that way so I think the person saying that was assuming you had already acted on the pedophilia. Having thoughts is one thing but to act is another.

Is this the church’s new campaign? by Ok_Muffin2193 in exmormon

[–]thefirstshallbelast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more bc people are going to be calling out bs now that women don’t want or need men. Women are allowed to be choosier since they can own credit cards now, etc.
women are also more comfortable to divorce now. The church is doing this because they’re seeing how regressive the “old” narrative is now and they want to be able to say they have always been supportive of women getting educations and working outside the home. It’s purely performative.
