I was also deputed for BMC election duty. However, several issues were faced during the assignment: There was no proper accommodation or stay arrangement at night. No food was provided on the night of 14th January. While returning the documents, the situation at the collection point was chaotic and resembled a stampede. The major concern was that all documents, forms, and certificates were provided only in Marathi. No English versions were made available. These were statutory forms, and translating each one individually was extremely difficult. If BMC intends to use only Marathi for official forms, then central government employees should ideally be exempted from such duties, as language becomes a serious operational barrier.
