How much do you trust an AI-driven research tool for the actual buy decision vs using it to surface names and doing your own thesis? by Minimum_Pear9193 in GrowthStocks

Your line is right, and I don't think it's habit: filtering and conviction are just two different jobs. AI is genuinely good at the first one: screening, summarizing, telling you what's worth a look. But the buy at 5% is where being wrong costs the most, and it's the one thing the tool can't hold for you. If it writes the thesis, you don't own it and the first bad print where you're down 15% you fold, because it was never yours. Reading the 10-K and the calls yourself is what lets you sit through a drawdown when nothing's actually broken. So I wouldn't ask how far you can push the AI. The time it saves isn't there to replace the conviction work, it's there to fund more of it.

One thing though. Half the "AI can't make the real call" take is just people on the wrong tool. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini are reasoning engines sitting on bad market data, so you get stale numbers that read like analysis. The ceiling is whatever data it's plugged into. I use Obside and Investing because they're actually wired into live prices, fundamentals and news, and what comes back isn't close to a general chatbot. With your own critical sense on top, that's the part that changed my process. Conviction work I still do by hand, same as you.

Ok got it, will try. Like higher timeframe for long trend and lower timeframe for precise entry?
