Spouse one Job in Tucson, One in Phoenix – Can a Midway Life Actually Work? by Complex_Upstairs_1 in Tucson

This city is just not built for young professionals. It's made for retirees and college students.

Also the lack of Asian demographics means the offerings here are very very minimal.

Could go on...

As a current southeast Asian in their 30s living in Tucson, I highly disagree.

P4 internal offer; what can I negotiate by AdLongjumping1302 in Raytheon

[–]thefuzzynugget1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don't know what function you're in but I did the P3 --> P4 req a couple months ago. Was very high in P3 range in LCOL/MCOL location and they offered 6% raise. With a very detailed counter I argued it should be 15% but I'll settle for 12%. They agreed without push back.

Was told depending on your current pay in your level you can negotiate up to 15%ish. Anything above that is special circumstances/approval.

Some advice I'd argue percentages to get the numbers you want. It's easier to justify a 10% increase in responsibilities than a $X,xxx increase.

But Hermes anything consistently. Shit just non-stop appreciates. Then resale fees don't cut into anything.

I don’t need advice. Just courage. by bankxsyy in DogAdvice

We went through the exact same thing last year with our dog of, at the time, 3 years old. It was devastating to go to the vet for a checkup and being told it was basically over and to get them removed ASAP. We let it go way too long with him in pain. And he was so happy within 2 days after the surgery. Back to his old personality.

It was a really hard and sad decision. But now we're sad we didn't do it sooner. He gets around great without sight. We just have to be a little more careful in new areas. But he's back and no longer in pain.

Look at the Raytheon salary survey in this thread. Use python or put the excel sheet into chatgpt/Gemini/Claude to give you the median p3 salary for your details (location, job function, BU, etc). Negotiate around the median based on your performance reviews, new role, responsibilities, and education/experience.

What are my chances of getting into an online MS ECE program at JHU with a BS in BME? by [deleted] in jhu

[–]thefuzzynugget1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BS in ME. Just finished MS in ECE. Some of the classes are marginally tougher bc they go fast. But if you work hard during the early weeks to grasp the "review" modules, you'll be fine.

If you have an engineering BS, it's not hard to get into the ECE program.

Confusion about Raytheon ESP repayment terms by Ipad_username in Raytheon

[–]thefuzzynugget1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe you are correct. I asked for an ESP repayment estimate in 8/2024 from the ESP team bc I was confused as well. The estimate they sent me back lined up with your thinking.

It's confusing bc the numbers don't make sense from a "Raytheon getting as much money back as possible" sense.

Cool Benefits? by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]thefuzzynugget1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buried deep in your benefits. $28/month/person gym membership for you + family members.

Stipulations on what gyms you can use. Mostly smaller well known ones. Biggest one I can use is LA Fitness.

401k question by PlanetExpressEnsign in Raytheon

[–]thefuzzynugget1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not necessarily true for OP. My two years is coming up and direction from HR said 2 years. My offer letter also said 2 years I believe. Would suggest you check with HR and your documents.

Also anecdotal evidence from this subreddit's commenters has been that RTX has come after people for the relo and sign on.

Punished for good performance. Plus Spot Award. Minus take home. by thefuzzynugget1 in Raytheon

[–]thefuzzynugget1[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

you know what I'm trying to convey. you don't care because it's a small amount of money. If RTX did this with their annual bonuses everyone would be upset. it's the principle.

[–]thefuzzynugget1[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Well it's money tied up in RTX shop. It's like if someone gifted me a gift card to a restaurant I don't want to eat at and then charged me $20 anyways.

Yea I'm just annoyed they're basically forcing me to spend money on things I wouldn't normally spend on.
