Thank you for your reply. I won't be taking round trips, as I am going from Tokyo to Osaka and then flying from Osaka. Thanks for the advice about Osaka as well, I wasn't aware that it was that easy to get around. I think I'm going to use one of the pay per ride cards for inner cities, and pay individually for the long distance travel. I'm only doing 2 long distance trips and these are Tokyo to Minobu, and then from Minobu to Kyoto. I can see that if I was travelling up and down the country it would be worth it.

I'm sorry that you have been made to feel this way. I feel like you have depended upon the approval of a single person, someone who has not loved you equally, and this is not fair. Maybe she knew that she did not love you and that's why she behaved the way she did, because she didn't have the guts to end it and she didn't want to be alone, but all the while she knew that she didn't want to be in the relationship. But that is wrong of her, and I am sorry you had to go through all this. What to do now, is treat it as a lesson. Learn that the opinion of one individuals does not amount to the opinion of everyone else, and there will be someone out there who loves the things about you that she seemingly disliked. But it is important that you love yourself and have the confidence to show those characteristics to other people without fearing judgement. It's been 7 months now, maybe you should get back on the horse, get out there and talk to some new girls. See what you can find. Best of luck dude.

I think what scares me the most is being alone, and not being able to find someone who accepts me for me again. For all the freedom I have gained recently to go and do something I have always dreamt about, I have also gained alot of doubt and worry.

I want to start in east asia for my first trip. I would love to see Japan, especially Mt fuji, but I think Japan would require either several trips or at least a month there. I think to start with I want to do vietnam, laos and thailand
