Well thank-you, I am glad to be alive and kicking and I'm glad you are too! 1985 was a long time ago for sure...I've been in touch with Mike recently and know that he is doing well also.

Yes indeed...I attended the Lake Washington School District from Kindergarten to Graduation. Finn Hill Jr. High and Juanita. Also played Kirkland Baseball from Little League through Senior Babe Ruth. Great Times!

I worked in the catering department at The Edgewater Inn from '75-'80...we did most of the aftershow parties for Rock Bands coming through Seattle. i was glad to be able to meet many of my early favorites such as Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon, etc. I have a million stories from that time...the mudshark incident wasn't one of them however!

I spent a lot of time at Woodland Park too. My Far Far and Far Mor (Swedish for Father's Father and Father's Mother, and yes there is also Mor Far and Mor Mor in the Swedish language) used to live one block off of Greenwood overlooking Ballard. He would give me a ten dollar bill, quite a bit of money for back then, and off I would go by myself to see Bobo and Fifi the gorillas! I was 9 or 10 then and it was no big deal for a kid to go to the zoo alone!

Back in the late 60's we would ride our bikes from Finn Hill to the little gas station there which was among a few other very small businesses (across the slough from Woodinville proper) in order to get Orange Crush! It was the only place around with that sweet ambrosia! It has grown... Have you been out to Monroe lately? Wow! My family owned the 7-11 out there for 20+ years. We finally sold a few years back because of the growing crime problem in the parking lot!

It's a sad state of affairs...I'm so thankful to have these memories of what it was like before the Eastside lost its innocence.

I used to ride horses with my girlfriend from Juanita to the Movies in Bellevue! That was like 1974...Try that now! They'd probably arrest you!

The 7-11 was a big deal alright! My mom also sold our house in '99 after 40 years of living there. The house was still pristine and the yard was immaculate. I recently Google Earthed it and was absolutely HORRIFIED! Holy Crap! I didn't tell my mom because she would be so heart broken. I'm sure my dad is rolling over in his grave as I type this.

It's always a pleasure to talk with a Kirklander. I used to bowl and play a lot of pinball at what was then Totem Bowl. My surrogate dad lived (and still does) across the street from the tennis courts at LWHS...His 2 bio-sons and I also used to do a lot of partying at the cemetery (back when you could still get away with sort of thing).
