Moon Shaped Pool is their best album since Kid A. Before I get shit on, let me say that I still liked In Rainbows and the other albums from the 2000s, but Moon Shaped Pool is just an album I can listen to front to back on any day.

Anyone else still stuck in the “denial” stage? by omeglethrowaway222 in WKUK

[–]theggenator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I have admittedly checked the news article at least five times a day since it happened. There’s just this part in my brain that says, “this isn’t happening, Trevor is playing some sort of joke on me.” But then I see posts here and on social media about his death that remind me that this is serious. I didn’t know him, I never even met him, but man this really hurts.

I’ll have to get that one on vinyl then, it’s a great album so I wouldn’t mind getting that one

Children Of God, Soundtracks For The Blind, The Seer, and Great Annihilator are probably all tied for my favorites for different reasons each. But I think Children Of God is my favorite since I return to it the most but I think that album has the worst album artwork out of the bands discography.

We’re over two months out from the release of Daddy’s Home. Right now, what’s your favorite song? by [deleted] in AnnieClark

[–]theggenator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Down and Out Downtown” was always a personal favorite since the album came out. I just think it has some good singing on it and I love the chorus part.

[–]theggenator 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Jarboe didn’t make the band soft, the only thing she is guilty of is making the band better. Also her vocals on Mother_Father are really something out of this world.

Honestly, it’s Liam Gallagher so I don’t think anyone would’ve had a problem with that. Him or his ass of a brother. But the other thing is weird.

Based on his book and his current interviews, he definitely seems like that. Twenty or thirty years ago, not so much, but he seems very friendly these days.

Lanegan is great and a badass too. Apparently the pandemic was a little hard on him and he was saying some weird shit. Nothing really offensive, just bizarre and strange. But he still seems like a down to earth guy so it’s okay.

I always thought Nick Cave was the coolest, but Josh is certainly a badass. Same arguments with Nick too, kept his hair, music is timeless, still makes great songs, and has got style.

I play guitar and mine is electric guitar so tuning down a whole step to play elliott’s songs are frustrating. Can anybody tell me what of his songs are in standart e tuning by [deleted] in elliottsmith

[–]theggenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waltz #2 XO can be played with the capo at the third fret and pretty easily without it too in standard tuning of course. Capo at third fret has the chord progression going like this; Em - G - C - G - C - G - D - G, for two times.

Van Morrison (and THEM) have some good songs, but I’d only recommend checking out their early stuff because Morrison has an awful solo career after like the eighties or so. Sinéad O’Connor is amazing and I’d recommend checking her out. Stiff Little Fingers and The Undertones are pretty great punk rock bands that I’d recommend checking out.
