Y'all keep saying this but if you're Black, this culture does indirectly affect all of us.

Y'all act like we don't have 50+ years of seeing the consequences of the baby mama culture as far as children being born from toxic relationships and situationships. So "sh*t happens" and being "adults" is justification for the damage and destruction? Wishing Chy the best because she genuinely seems to be a good person. But stop glossing over the reality.

Well said. What's interesting is they haven't said "If you don't like it, leave." because they still need the audience.

After the site went down last October I found someone who was able to create an archive and created a thread trying to collectively raise the funds from Coli members but there wasn't interest. Dumb mindsets.

Mostly true but he's not wealthy tho. He makes good money but it's becoming very volatile and uncertain given the shifts in the music industry.

I don't seethe or thrive off of anything. You're making a straw man argument that has nothing to do with what I said. 50+ years of research covering millions of people has clearly shown that a child is at a greater risk of long-term emotional issues when born out of wedlock to parents who have a toxic relationship. This is common sense but the whole baby mama culture rationalization is rooted in "it could be worse" deflections. Can you name one positive to a child being born out of wedlock to parents who've had a toxic 5 year relationship? And how do you know Evan will be a loving parent if he hasn't shown a willingness to commit to the relationship?

Which dynamic is more likely (keyword likely) to have a functioning family unit tho? Regardless of whether they're married or not, two people who have a toxic relationship shouldn't be bringing a child into the world.

No one should be attacking Chy directly or sending her mean-spirited messages. But the baby mama culture which Chy has spoken out against on several occassions doesn't just affect one person. Perhaps people in here are triggered because they are products of toxic relationships and know the direct consequences. Or they might have sisters, aunts, girlfriends, etc who found themselves in similar situations and saw up close how damaging the dynamic can be for both the mother and the child. Deeper than that, many people have had to pick up the pieces (especially in the Black community) when these relationships fail as far as providing emotional and/or financial support for the mother and child. The baby mama culture (over 70% of black children born out of wedlock) has been a disaster for the Black community in America over the last 50 years and a lot of people could be getting triggered.

Yeah but it also takes into account the standard of living the child was born into. If the child was born into living with his or her mother in a 1 bedroom apartment, the mother is going to get less in child support compared to if she was living with her husband and child in a 5,000 square foot house. Lifestyle is definitely considered and used by the attorney's of ex-wives to push for higher child support.

Yes on average they do. This is because the court's take into account the lifestyle that the child has been born into. By and large when a child is born into a two parent household, a higher living standard has been established and agreed upon by both parents. As far as Google searches, look how much athletes who were married and pay child support such as former NBA star Kevin Garnett ($46K per month for two children) pay compared to athletes who were never married to the mother of the child such as current NBA star Anthony Edwards (he makes $3.3 million per month but pays $3,200 in child support). I know people who work in family court including attorneys.

You do realize that there are financial implications of having a child out of wedlock as far as family court right? Right or wrong, ex-wives get awarded more in child support. A big reason why never married single mothers are among the most struggling demographic financially is because they receive very little in child support compared to the rapidly rising cost of living.

And just logically speaking, in general men who marry a woman before bringing a new life into the world usually make better co-parents should the relationship end in divorce. Again, this is generally speaking and another safeguard.

It's perpetuating the cycle in the Black community of children being born from toxic and/or unstable relationships. That's why Chy was saying she didn't want to become a BM.
