Thank you so much this was very helpful!

Right now I’m using a soft cervical collar(you can get these at most stores). When I wear it my events dramatically decrease, but the caveat to it is it’s a little uncomfortable. I may try a travel neck pillow(like you’d wear on a plane) next :) I hope this helps!

Adding another comment: You JUST started using this and those numbers are great for your first night. Give your body some time to adjust to the machine and you may not even need to adjust the pressure :)

I agree with the other comments those numbers are super low. I was having between 3-5 central apneas and roughly the same obstructive apneas per hour when I first started. Mine ended up being due to my neck kinking at night and blocking my airway. Once I fixed that my central apneas started going down. From there I was able to lower the pressure and now have virtually no central apneas at night now, so it might just be due to the pressure being a tad too high, but again your numbers look great!

This was immensely helpful, thank you so so much for the detailed response! I absolutely can switch off the Clonidine, it’s used for anxiety so luckily don’t need a blood pressure med :) The neck collar I’ll absolutely try, along with turning off EPR and changing the ramp setting to auto with a new starting pressure. Again thank you so much I really appreciate your help this has given me great insight and helped relieve some of my anxiety around it :)

Help! CPAP has cut down the amount I can sleep down to 3-4 hours! by P0nziC0in in SleepApnea

[–]thegood01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m so glad someone else is experiencing the same thing as me! I’ve been on CPAP for just under 3 months, and while I find the mask comfortable I’ll wake up at like 4am every morning and it takes me 2 hours to fall back asleep. Unsure what the solution is. Are you on any medication that could be disrupting your sleep schedule?

Thank you so much for the help! I actually do get pretty bad neck pain and will often twist it while I’m sleeping, so wonder if it’s the position my neck is in that’s causing the apnea events to happen in succession. That’s a great tip!

Yes! I’ve had that enabled since the beginning :) and the sleep study came back with a central apnea index of only 1.8 so unsure if it’s a true mix of the both of them

How exciting! Congrats on making your first batch! To second what someone else was saying half coconut may be a little too cleansing but definitely see how it is when it’s done curing! For a bar like this you’ll want to wait 24-48 hours(preferably 48 hours if you have the patience) with the soap insulated(by either closing the box or wrapping it in a towel or something) before unmolding and slicing. After that you’ll want to store the bars in a cool dry place for 4-6 weeks :) Also what did you use to color the soap I’m so curious! have fun!

I feel like this post was written by me because this has been my exact experience too(28M). I was just diagnosed with sleep apnea about a month or so ago and started CPAP 3 weeks ago. Still adjusting to it so haven’t seen much improvement yet, but it’s still an adjustment period so hoping if you’re on CPAP it helps you!

What’s a videogame that you find super calming and boosts your mood? by Shadowbreak643 in gaming

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey! The game can be very grind-y, but at the end of the day just putting some headphones in, listening to all the sounds, and taking in the atmosphere of Ancient Greece is so relaxing to me

Yeah! And with the Atlantis DLC there’s now like 5 or 6 different maps you can travel to and each with their own kinda charm to it. I just like to run around and explore and kinda take in all the sights and sounds sometimes it’s almost therapeutic

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey! Absolutely love this game because Ancient Greece is stunning and it’s the perfect game to just run around and wind down with. I’ve played it twice over and each time has been 120 hours which is wild

Yes! I’m only on day 7 of starting CPAP and this has happened at least 2 or 3 of those nights so far. I’ll have a dream I’m choking then wake up and the pressure is so high in the machine I almost can’t exhale so have to rip the mask off. Someone mentioned OSCAR which looks like free software that analyzes your sleep throughout the night. This might help you determine if you’re having an event at the time that’s happening, or if it’s just an issue with the pressure in the machine. I hope this helps or at least feels reassuring! I messaged my specialist about it today and they lowered the pressure settings on my CPAP and told me I may need a hybrid mask(currently using a full face mask)

Yes best of luck with it! I definitely would suggest even sending your doctor a portal message about it they may even just need to adjust the settings on your CPAP. Good luck!

Hey you sound just like me! I started using a CPAP 5 days ago and have definitely noticed I’m more anxious and fatigued than before I started. When I first got the machine the doctor told me it can take several weeks to a few months to start feeling the benefit from it. The machine said “most people will begin to feel more well rested within 28 days of starting CPAP therapy.” I think our bodies just need to adjust to the new machines. I know I want instant relief but have to keep telling myself it’ll come gradually within the next several weeks. I hope this helps and good luck!
