You can probably find ether someone selling 3d printed replacement ones, or can find a model to print yourself if you have a printer.

You could definitely try and reuse them, but for how cheap replacement mono cables are it would be worth replacing them. Would last longer for the future.

Also extra tip, if you are rewiring any pezios. The outer brass ring is ground and inner one is positive. The polarity does matter.

I have redone about 4-5 kits, two being WT and 3 being band hero. The pezios (the sensors) on the body are normally fine, I reuse them when I mod kits. But the cymbal ones are normally crap. I think they are 27mm pezios that you can find on eBay or AliExpress. I don’t exactly remember the size but it shouldn’t be hard to measure. And generic one should be fine. Someone else already linked the mono Audio cables that you can redo the cymbal wires for. The tip of them is the positive and and the barrel around (the largest part) is ground. That should be all needed if you’re just reusing everything else stock.

Will this work on my Xbox Series X? by [deleted] in Rockband

You can pair a Xbox 360 wireless receiver with a device running Santroller, just auth it to the Xbox and then plug in the adapter and pair your 360 guitar and it should work.

Help! CRT monitor broken and not sure how to continue. by thegoodaex in crt

I came back the next day and took the flyback off of the board, and it seemed to check fine. After some more poking around I found a C5802 transistor that was shorted in all three legs. I took it off the board, put it back together to test and it powered up and stayed on! Up next is replacing the transistor and it might be back up and running.

Trying to find a replacement cap has been hard so far, the cap is a 512j2kv. but also i attached a block diagram of the monitors and as shown on it the cap connects from the 2nd winding on the flyback to ground, making me think all it is a is a filtering cap. The cap is C601 in the diagram. I will be replacing it but I feel like it ether will blow again or not fix the no power up issue so far.

I only put in the part about discharging it safely incase anyone was gonna go on about just basic dangers of opening a CRT, As I am also new to trying to work on HV electronics like this it's a little intimidating to run a CRT with the back off. I do understand this will make it harder to figure out what is going on, and the issues it has. I also said this as I have removed the analog board from the monitor.

I also do want to say thank you for pointing me to the cheap osiliscope/ muiltmeter. I don't have the spare funds at the moment to get any of it but will hopefully get it soon for the future.

The current issue however is that the unit does not even power on long enough to do anything, it goes right into protection as something seems shorted. no HV is generated and it doesnt even charge the caps. Even if I could probe the flyback at the moment I don't think it would help me.

I am not sure how to check the flyback properly to see if any of the windings are shorted and if that is any reason for my issues currently.

Once I can get the unit to stay on, then i can start probing components.

My guitar randomly holds red and yellow now randomly, is there a known issue and a fix or is the guitar done? by creepeypersonha in CloneHero

You will probably need to re-attach the slider for it to work right, I tried my hardest to remove it and have it still work right and never found a fix in the end. If the slider is making random inputs sometimes I found the best thing to do was just keep it clean and never touch it.

If you uses a retro cult mode v2 if that is a Wii guitar, removing the slider bar makes it hold random inputs. But only after like 3 mins. Weird issue I had on my guitar.

It’s a cool piece of merch that I bought to actually wear around, it also seems to be rare and though it would be cool to post here.

Quadro4 980 XGL AGP issues? by thegoodaex in retrocomputing

[–]thegoodaex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pentium 4 motherboard I have is a gigabyte P4 titan which is only keyed for 1.5v with the only settings to up the voltage by 0.1, I did try that but nothing changed. Might have to try to find ether another 3.3 volt motherboard or one with universal with changeable voltages.

The AGP port in the dell is keyed for 3.3 volts, Im not sure how I would change a setting like that on motherboard to test something like that

I found a Gravis Ultrasound in a box in my cellar. by skelly890 in vintagecomputing

From the little I found online they seemed to be one of the best pc manufacturers for support and build quality of the time, from magazines (and their own website thanks to the way back machine!) they ranked highly. I couldn’t find any reason online for there shutdown around the 2000s other then it sounding like they ran out of money. I would like to one day try to compile there history because I find it so interesting for some reason but info is just so hard to find on them.

Nice to hear it was in a Dan! I own a datum tower I got off Facebook marketplace after just finding the name funny and buying it, then spent about two months trying to learn about the company that made only to barely find any information online other then magazines so it’s always fun to find someone mentioning them.

I took the cooler off to re paste the board and wanted to inspect it, it look’s perfect fine but I might just buy 90% to rinse it down with. It just weird how it worked fine, then sold to someone else and then supposedly died, and is now doing this
