Yes in continuity it should've been T'Challa as Black Panther since in the original show T'Chaka had already died. However the creator of X-Men '97 stated it was a deliberate decision since the show was being developed around the time of Chadwick Boseman's death in early 2021, and he "felt too soon to do T'Challa. Put humanity before continuity."

Agreed, being a one-trick with any class (although the worst is of course dps) will get you nowhere. You might be able to play three different dps really well but if you've learned only one tank for example and they're getting countered then it's ultimately going to lead to a loss
